2015 Ducati Scrambler Uban Enduro Edition Motorcycle Review

The salesman told me it was the Icon but looking at the website it's the Urban Enduro.
Today I took out a new 2015 Ducati Scrambler for a full run down! I had never tried any scrambler bike - which is not just a model name but a genre of bike. It's defined as a small light streetbike that can also tackle light offroad duty. While i can certainly see how it's many good qualities for that specific purpose would be assets, for my wants and needs as a pure streetbike (nowhere to ride off road) it actually detracted. Build quality wise it's excellent with a smooth strong power plant, great light fun handling and an almost bicycle feel to many of the ride points. The tank is unusually small and low, you really feel like you are on top of the whole thing completely. I'm glad I rode it, it's another case of preconceived expectations being completely off the mark and proves why you should always test ride before buying a bike!

I have an Icon and I like the heck out of it. It's kinda like riding an old Triumph or BSA with twice the horsepower plus modern conveniences like brakes. There are 50 pages in the owners manual about the "speedo". I like to watch it spool up when I turn the key on. I hope they sell a million of 'em and it looks like they're well on the way. I never thought $8500 would be considered inexpensive but I guess it is.

This must have been painful for you to post (audio problems). Still watched anyway though! You could make everything out fine through headphones or earbuds. Solid review!

+TwoWheelObsession is there a reason why this is worse for a inline twin starter bike say than a FZ 07 or SV650? Sure is shiny. I like it. Hope you are having a good one man. Thanks for the videos.

What are your thoughts on the newest Honda CB500F bikes? I like the looks and the price point. I've done some dirt riding on lower displacement bikes, but I'd like to get into riding on the road and eventually commuting via motorcycle. I enjoy hearing your perspective on bikes because all too often, reviews are done by guys that are on the small to average size. I'm about 6'3" and 260 lbs and I know how that can factor into the decision making process when buying a bike.

I agree. The FZ07 was on my list of bikes to consider as well although for what I plan to do and the roads I plan to ride on, I really think the extra 200 (or so) CCs it has over the Honda aren't necessary. I'd rather keep the $1500 price difference between the two in the bank. The FZ07 is drop dead gorgeous, however, and it really looks like it leans toward the "sport" end of the spectrum based on the rider's position on the bike.

Unfortunately like I said in the vid I didn't have the mic plugged in this was the only sound recorded there's nothing more I can do it was already cleaned up
