Hi Jacob. Nice job dumping the totes. I agree, take your time dumping the totes and you shouldn’t damage them. I have tried cutting the fronts out and I won’t do that again. They dump very well, no complaints on that. The totes become so fragile, the single bar gets in the way all the time. Keep in mind I pay 25-50 /tote and because of that I stack my totes. If you cut the fronts out you need to put straps in front to hold the tote together. I like to stack my totes for better drying. The totes with the fronts cut out ,you can’t stack them . My best suggestion to you Jacob, collect as many totes as possible as soon as possible. Things can change. My goal is to do what you’re doing,don’t cut the totes. I would need around 300 totes to get all the wood in totes. I also use my bladders for wood also. If you get to many totes send some to your best friend in Minnesota. Have a Blessed day.

I’d much rather watch KZfaq any day!! You’ve definitely got the tote flippin figured out 👌🏻 you found what works for you and have crafted it to fit your operation. Not a thing wrong with that 👍🏻👍🏻 Take care, Brandon

The best method I have seen yet. Believe me everybody just changed the way they dump totes. And of course they wish they knew about the trailer side door upgrade.

😂😂. Appreciate the compliment!! Modifying the totes, has it advantages I’m sure, but I got about 100 totes. I just hate to adjust all of them or some of them. I also wonder if it’s a little hard on the front of your tractor shaking the wood loose when a tote is attached to the pallet fork base. Thanks for your time watching and commenting!

That works great Jacob! I'm limited by 3 things - my trailer is a 6x10, My Kubota L3400 has a limited lift capacity, and it has a limited height of lift. If my tractor had a little bit more "grunt" I'd definitely try your method. Congratulation on the 1000 subs!

Hey there Jacob! I think the system how your doing it, is pretty good tbh, I don’t think anything about how your doing things is silly or such 🔥💯👍. Your doing what works best for you a your business 🤜🤛 and it’s cool that your bringing us along and sharing! I’m like you, I’d rather watch and learn things from others on KZfaq on topics that interest me (like firewood lol) vs regular tv, I honestly don’t watch regular tv at all anymore 👍. There’s so much great content out there! Curious though, just wondering, from start to finish how long does it take to load the trailer with the tractor vs if you were to throw it all in by hand? 😊Anyways another great video, an I appreciate the time having us along for a visit! Take care buddy! Cheers! Andrew from NB :)
@TwinCityFirewood4 ай бұрын
Hey Andrew! Thanks for commenting buddy! You’re right, there’s a ton of interesting stuff on KZfaq. As far as loading the trailer, I’ve never actually timed it but I’m sure I can dump 2 totes in less than 10-15 mins and probably 4 totes in roughly 20ish mins. Thats counting getting the tractor out and putting it up and opening and closing the trailer doors and picking up any wood that may have fallen out. Thanks for asking!! See ya next time!! 👊🏻👊🏻

Hey Jacob I’ve seen u do this on other videos as well as idk if u watch Jake at dude ranch diy channel he does the same method works great to me . I use ibc totes but I dnt have to dump them as I’m not selling big quantities of fire wood I just do bundles n bring full tires over to the house to fill the wood stove but if I had to dump them it b this way just for tel he ogre simplicity of not having to tamper with the totes from my normal day to day use thanks for sharing god bless
@TwinCityFirewood4 ай бұрын
Hey Adam,, yeah, I’ve made similar videos but this is the first I’ve done dumping more than 2 totes I believe. I just haven’t seen many folks closing the gate before you dump or propping the tote up on the gate. Yeah, Jake has a cool channel and really neat equipment. His “Roll-off”dump truck allows him to drive his tractor into the dump bed!! It’s awesome. I can’t thank you enough for your time commenting and watching!! 👊🏻🔥🪵

@TwinCityFirewood4 ай бұрын
Dump trailers are super handy. Mine is a 11 f150. 5.0. It’s been a great truck. It has a rebuilt/salvage title. I put a RAS kit on it (road active suspension) kit. I would highly recommend doing that. Reduces body squat and makes a huge difference towing. Plus you can save some $$ buying them around the holidays. Appreciate you man!!

Great video thanks. So 4 totes is a full cord plus one Rick or one face cord?
@TwinCityFirewood4 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching & Commenting!! 1 of these "loose" totes equals a 1/4 cord. So, 4 of these Loose totes would be a full cord. I used to sale by the "rick" or face cord and to get that I would stack each tote 8"-10" above the top rail on a 275 gal tote to get a true 1/3 of a cord. A full cord would be 3 of those of course. Hope that makes sense!! Thanks again!
