To say that Dune: Awakening faces an uphill battle would be an understatement. For at least the last two decades, Dune fans have been waiting for a serious video game that respects the franchise. The success of the modern Dune films has made it the right time for Funcom, the developer behind Conan Exiles, to create a game that will hopefully live up to all of the expectations. Since many fans really want a single-player experience where they can explore and conquer Arrakis as Paul Atreides, the fact that Dune: Awakening is a survival MMO will take a lot of convincing for them to get on board. But in a 30-minute presentation for the game behind closed doors during GDC 2024, Funcom made its case. And so far, it looks like the developer has a lot of pieces in the right places.

This is the only game I’m looking forward to and have high expectations for it, it’s so hard to come across good games nowadays so my fingers are crossed.

For all of WDL's quirks, the combat (melee, gunplay and tech warfare) was a lot of fun. You could use any of the tools available and, in the majority of cases, you could make it work - and make it look good while you are at it. I hope DA nails that flexibility just as well.

I just wanna know if the PVP portion is full loot or not. If I kill another player, can I take their stuff? That's what i'm interested in.

@@NZMPlaysmost likely he is not if you go into these interviews especially if they show you something exclusive they have very detailed contracts and if he can’t post or record it then most likely can’t share it from ear to ear

@@Medieval1-1 It's Hand-off is the problem. It's Really hard to say if the combat feels good/bad without playing ourselves, also kind of unfair to judge gameplay (whether it looks good or bad) without actually playing first.

Nobody asked you what was better, the facts remain most people play solo. We're not asking for opinions as to what plays better with friends, you're being told what is true, most people play solo regardless of what plays better Not that I think OP has a point, because there is no going solo on planet Dune and being wildly successful@@charleswalker5849
