You absolutely should be able to do the Fremen sand walk in order to not attract worms. It’s a central bit of lore that without, it already starts to not feel like Dune. It should be a skill you have to learn or unlock somehow though and could be used as an awesome tension mechanic if spotted out on the sand by nearby enemies and you have to decide whether running to avoid the risk from the enemies is worth the risk of calling a worm…

Ye it could be a skill and u need to practice and u can do it alot on none worm territories and then practice on worm territories until ur good but also have freman teachers But atleast u can get addicted to spice and be a freman

@@jayoddity I agree to an extent but it shouldn’t be at the expense of critical lore such as the Fremen sand walking. You can integrate it in many gameplay appropriate ways to use it as a tension mechanic and could make it something you have automatically if say choosing a fremen class for your character or a skill you can learn or unlock for other characters. A Dune game set in the deserts of Arrakis without the fremen sandwalking already strays a long way to not feeling like Dune, it’s such an integral piece of the lore of existing on the deserts of Dune.

Dune Awakening looks very interesting. I have to say that whether its PvP and or PvE, it seems that the environment is more dangerous to a player than the other players would be :)

I can't get past how much vegetation there is in the desert. It makes no sense.

In the lore, the plants are not natural, they were brought there in an attempt to terraform the planet before they found the spice.

@@WilliamFHolden they were no where near as abundant. They were hidden away from the Harkonnens in the south. These clips depict a desert environment similar to one from earth, not Arrakis. Maybe not a big deal for some, but it breaks the illusion for me.

as a solo and pve player who just wants to play the game this is a no go area for me and im very disappointed as this is forced pvp anywhere that the pois. This in my opinion is a bad business decision as its cutting out all pve players as most are not interested in getting squatted everytime we leave our base by a bunch of pricks, Thats what cods for.

Do you have any idea how old dune is? Most likely before you were born homie! The dune book was in 1965 later the film was 1984.

True to the lore is more important with Dune, I would say, than pretty much any other franchise I've seen. I hope this game allows total looting of dead players, because that was a big element in the books. They'd even loot the corpses for their water!

Whelp nothing exciting anymore. Guess it’s playing New World season 5 for “new content” but it’ll probably only be a few days then getting back on FFXIV for the new expansion.
