I think it's smart that they didn't make Kirby yellow. If you think about it, it would have probably caused problem with comparisons to Pac Man, both round characters whose main form of attack is eating. Then Namco would never have made Smash, oh no. >.

my younger brother is obsessed with Kirby, and on his 7th birthday guess what he wished for ... yeah no duh, he wished "for Kirby to be real", about a half second later our door rang and a rather large (or maybe ROUND) gentleman was there advertising for Kirby vacuums ... close enough

I can vouch for Arin here. He mentioned several things in the recording before he read the script. Epic Yarn starting off as a non-Kirby game being one of them.

Here’s a fact: Kirby’s Water ability first appeared in the Kirby anime and didn’t appear in an actual game until Return To Dream Land!

I think its adorable that this fierce little star warrior saving the world still can find enough happiness to dance! Despite Kirby not having much of an established personality besides being the hero, I think its a cute testament to his optimism.

That's actually an argument against it being Earth. The theory is post-apocalyptic Earth, but that means quite a bit of time from now, and continents shift, so it would not be exactly the same shape. ( This was written at 5:22AM and I've not been to sleep yet, so forgive any mistakes I may have made.)

Always bugs the hell out of me that Return to Dream Land never bothered keeping the helper system. It makes me really hope that the NX finally gives us that Super Star sequel that allows you to make the other players into the enemies you fought again because I thought that was such an awesome idea.

+AnimeWolfgamer I think that Sakurai should return one last time to head it, include every power ever introduced, alongside an enemy for each to do the Helper system, and also let you combine those powers; though only limit it to two per combination to avoid development hell like Crystal Shards. That way, it's guaranteed to have great music, a very solid story that is not a rehash of Super Star and much more. I can see it being one hell of an awesome game if it meets these requirements.

There was actually a Kirby anime back when 4Kids was called the FoxBox. It was around the same time SonicX was airing. I'm SURE in the grand scheme of the internet, they're considered awful shows. But as an early junior high aged kid, I adored them. They were my two favorite shows. c:

The American covers for Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Kirby Air Ride, Nightmare in Dreamland, and The Amazing Mirror at 1:35 do a good job of showing that imo.

Its cultural differences, Kirby is a family friendly franchise, and Japanese tend to believe that a child's hero should be have heart warming persona. American hero tends to market the manliness and vengeance of the hero, which showcases its desire for freedom and determination

On a random note: Kirby Triple Deluxe gets SOO much hate and is considered as the worst Kirby game in the series within the fans. It's a good Kirby game. And has one of the best Soundtracks that came out from a Kirby game in a while.

I think it gets a lot of hate because it has a bad final boss and hypernova is just too much of a gimmick and shows up too much,but other than that it's an amazing game

That game is hated? I had a blast with it! The only real complaint I had was the level design was a little lackluster at times, but otherwise, it was fun. And while hypernova may have been overused, I had a massive grin on my face during most of those segments, so it gets a plus from me.

Remember that boss in Triple Deluxe that use paintings to fight you? The boss of the second world? In her description, it is said that she is fighting to get revenge for her lost sister or something like that. Plus this boss looks TOO MUCH like Drawcia and attack almost the exact same way as Drawcia. 100% sure that she is Drawcia's sister.

Also, Did you know that Master Hand make a cameo in some Kirby games and, with Crazy Hand, is the boss of a level in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror? This could in fact be a easter egg about the Smash Bros serie or even a easter egg about Sakurai beeing also the creator of Smash Bros.

In the game Kirby's Pinball Land the default top scores are named '1 ZEPHYRA, 2 PHYSALI, 3 DENDROB and 4 GERBERA.' These are contractions of the names of 4 mobile suits from 0083: Stardust Memory, a short spin-off Gundam series: Zephyranthes, Physalis, Dendrobium and Garbera Tetra. And on a more personal note this was the first game I ever owned myself and, years later, I ended up being a massive Gundam dork.

The K in Kirby gives it a hard sound. It's not appealing to the ears and doesn't roll off the tongue. Compare it to the names Romeo and Mario. There's a clear difference.

Kirby's name came from john kirby the guy who defended nintendo over a lawsuit with universal studio because the of donkey kong's name having similarities with king kong not a vacuum company.

Kirby 64 is a 2.5D game, which means that even though Kirby is in a 3D environment he can only move along a preset path, which is why he can only go left and right. Yoshi's Story and the SSB games are also 2.5D games

Well... The fact about Kirby's name in the video is in reallity a theory. A lot of people don't know why Kirby's name is Kirby. The theory in the video is the most popular one. But we don't know and Nintendo itself don't know too.

Kirby will always hold a soft spot in my heart, because "Kirby's adventure" was the first game I beat from start to finish. it's a shame I never really got interested in any other Kirby games, but when I play smash bros I usually always chose Kirby.

try the Adventure GBA Remake called Nightmare in Dreamland, there's an extra little mode where you can play a Meta Knight and can play through the whole adventure again, kind of like the second quest in most Zelda games
