PREPARE FOR THE UNKNOWN by Dominick Cruz
www.dynamicstriking.com
In this Fight Training video, Dominick Cruz explains how to prepare for the unknown.
Dominick Cruz is widely considered the greatest bantamweight mixed martial artists in history as a 2 time champion in the UFC and the last bantamweight champion of the WEC organization. This is an excerpt from MMA FOOTWORK HACKS available from DynamicStriking.com.
Dynamic Striking was started by a pair of black belts (Bernardo Faria & Michael Zenga) who feel that nothing is more important than improving your striking skills as much as possible in the least amount of time. Their aim was to create a shop for students interested in striking who don’t look at mixed martial arts as a sport - but as a lifestyle.

The fact that he knows his style looks goofy but has a hidden element in that you never know if he's actually out on his feet is fucking genius.

@@johnkreese4706 But gassing out athletic grapple heavy opponents is a real strategy that works. Maybe not to khabib because he is very technical and extremely well conditioned. But it does work at a moderately high level. So dom has an idea he his working with that is based in fact.

Anyone ever play God of War 3 on PS3? Dominic Cruz is Hermes (Mercury) with that footwork. And no this is not a bad thing, it's actually a compliment. The man has some of the best footwork around. Years ago he fought Cody Garbrant, which was not Dom's best performance. Back then Cody was a major force to be reckoned with, looked invincible at times. But the make up of a true champion on that level isn't calculated on a single performance but the sum of all performances throughout a career. Cruz has aged, just as we all do, but he has retained a great deal of skill. Cody Garbrant was like a shooting star back then. He lit up the sky and was a sight to behold, but then suddenly fizzled out into the great abyss. Well enough reminiscing, time to go take a shit.

Youre a🤡and know NOTHING about boxing. You're just a newb U know nothing about fighting & u have no idea what youre talking about Read my Cruz VS Cejudo breakdown and educate yourself. R2 2:30 Cruz has bad punching tech but it's more important to have correct shoulder trajectory/positioning Not only too much of a delay for Cejudo to pull down & shoot There was no coming over Cruz's 2 with a hook,Cruz placed his 2 beautifully while bending away(left shoulder drop) R2 0:15 Cruz kept trying to be cute with unnecessary extra stepping & dumb stance changes in front of Cejudo eyes Step accomplished nothing.Better off staying southpaw here He just cost himself seconds in timing+more telegraphed intentions.Cejudo picked up on how Cruz uppercuts & ducks R2 3:35 Like I said earlier about how u must turn with your blocks Heres what happened when Cejudo actually TURNED WITH HIS BLOCK He put himself in position to come back quick with his right hand Take Cruz's right hand and shoot his own Just needed to keep it tight & short arching in R1 2:30 If Cruz had his weight to bend to this position he smoothers knee off right shoulder/chest The errors: Step=delay+weight down on right leg=telegraph to uppercut bend Instead of flowing into left bend, drove off left leg to step right leg forward=drop into knee Can smoother knee R2 2:35 When parrying/pulling down & holding block other hand,MOVE WITH the BLOCK 2 options that wouldve opened up 1 Pull down fake, twist to his right turtling down on right leg & bounce Cruz's 2 while loading up right uppercut 2 Pull down,twist/slip outside 2,hook the body or head R1 1:55 Cejudo's best punch came via staying planted & timing Cruz Cruz kept trying to be cute too much 1. Slapped fake down &got him stepping into short 2 2. U dont wanna step into opposite stance from that close. Will get caught inbetween steps/step into big shot,or smoother yourself R2 2:40 Cejudo tried to pull Cruz's fake down & shoot Cruz beat him to it so bad then ducked response bcus shoulder trajectory Shoulder drop with 2 off fake not only took head outside Cejudo's left hand, but in position to get under his 2 Placed 2 beautifully inside his left guard too Too much of a delay to pull down & shoot U want Cejudo's reaction, especially when u fake a 1 & come straight with the 2, u will beat them before their response He wanted to pull & jab/hook But Cruz even took away a hook over his 2,with proper shoulder trajectory(+get under 2) If Cruz can trim out the fat (over-complicated unnecessary extra steps), plant his feet more, settle down more, hide his stance changes, just continue working on fundamental boxing, Cruz can become a beast/make his style even more effective There must be a solid foundation. I can help Cruz! My drills teach, help,&cover everything ten fold.If u knew what u were watching u could have a clue. U know nothing clown🤡 Through out my drills u will become a pro at pushing weight➡⬅to jab, which will help u become natural at following your weight down into low left lean=bend/overhand/jab/body jab positions,&➡⬅➡which is same motion as 1-2/1 slip/1 low right lean=jab/hook/body hook/5 positions MMA striking and boxing hipsters are 0 compared to me Quiet🤡 My breakdowns are the best on the internet. Nobody is on my level. Read my breakdowns and actually educate yourself
