Check your float levels are the correct spec. Factory Webers were 7.5mm, others were maybe 8 or 8.5mm. Also I found the standard 175 needle and seats were a bit small, if you are getting a stumble maybe go up to 200s or 225s. I also use a Carter electric fuel pump which runs at 4 psi with no regulator but plenty of volume.

Yeah the pressure was dropping to 3psi during the runs. Float level I used a 7.5mm drill bit. This might sound weird but I have noticed that the thermo are coming on too early and the engine temps are hovering at about 80ish degrees. I disconnected the high speed fans and let the car get up into the 90s and the coughing stopped.

Don't know what yoy are doing wrong but my brother has a 265 with webers plus other work done it is achieving 400hp / 300kw from the rear wheels. No NOS and runs on 98 petrol. He has owned this beast for at least 40 years and will never part with it until "death do we part".

sounds looks great there is but something is not right you should be getting 200hp even a worn out stock 245 i had with webbers was getting that on the dyno.. some setup to play with but looking good.. I miss my 1969 VF VIP every day.. I live in USA now nothing like them.. I dont know your engine build but with the right head porting and cam you can get up to 300hp pretty easy..

I agree there is something off with the car, I starting to think it might be the converter. That power curve is just odd to me. I was looking for low 200hp.

How is your borgwarner still going with that much horsepower thought their not that good of a box what modifications have u done?

Hey mate, the trans is still going strong, touch wood. No mods to the internals of the box, just the converter has been modified. The kick down cable needs to be set up correctly, thanks to MR HEMI.

VG Pacer had more power standard Even a factory VG 2 barrel Regal had 185 go with a pea shooter exhaust. Index your plugs .

VG Pacer 185hp at the crank, 0-96km/h 8.8s, 0-400 metres: 16.7s

Hey mate, Cam has been dialed in early for move down low. Revs out out about 5200rpm.

I really don’t know what he was reving it to. 145 kms I think he what to. It has 3.45 diff gears. I should probably test out my top speed ✌️

Yes, I now think it is a temperature thing. The temp was only 80 degree on the dyno. I disconnected the thermos the next day and at 90 degree it didn’t cough. 🤷

@@Dazza. ok, I thought the same thing with mine and changed the thermostat to a 180F but it didn't resolve the issue. I ended up taking it to a tuner in Preston and he enlarged the first progression hole. It helped but might need the second one done too as it slightly still does it.

Sorry just adjusted my last message. It don’t cough at 90-95 degrees. I was going to enlarge the second progression hole to 1.2mm (it’s only 0.9mm). I run an 88 thermostat.

It’s the original motor. If was going to charge it, I would go a V8.
