I unbox a vintage RC Team Associated RC10 Gold Pan Buggy. Is it an Edinger or Cadillac? Whats the Condition and what are my plans for it?

RC Retro I couldn’t believe it when I saw it lol. Posted in a couple FB groups and had a couple $900 offers. That made it tempting to sell but I’m for sure going to hold on to it. Thanks for the content man, you got my sub!

Nordic RC Visions thanks. Did you see my video about my RC collection? Well if you didn’t, “tag your it.” I nominated you to show off your collection. Hope you don’t mind but you have such great vids and so many RCs, I’m sure everyone would love to see a little behind the scenes action like the collection and work area. Keep up the great work and I hope that you and your family are staying safe and well.

Bud Bartos... made tons of parts for RC10, RC10L and others... That speed control is pretty cool although it 's the poor mans Novak 4 not the Novak 1. I still have all my old stuff including a Novak 1 & couple of Novak 4's as well as a couple of those mini Novak NER2X receivers.

Even though it's 2 years ago now, that was a great bargain! . I only have one gold chassis RC10, but it's deffo a keeper. Had one before back in the late 80's, quit racing for a few years, restarted, 20yrs later with other buggies, bought the RC10 because I just wanted one again. It came to me used but RTR with a 75mhz radio, illegal in the UK, in 2005 for £85 + shipping from a US model dealer.

That's called an idiot hole in the chassis, to access the servo horn. I think there was an rcca tech tip or something back in the day because it's super common, and such a shame.

So, crazy you say you dont know who "Buds" is. I live in ohio, and used to race like 7 years ago, and Bud himself would come race at one of the tracks i raced at. He in the early days was all about hop ups for all the popular manufacturers, but in his later years, he made and sold these little rc's, called buds cars. They are smaller than 1:18 diecast cars. So when i seen him they were racing these little cars. Me and my buddies were always waiting for the little turds to get off the carpet so we could practice our 10th scale carpet oval cars. Ps, ive owned a couple rc10's in my day. Im on my third gold pan. Id have to look to see if its an edinger or cadillac. The other two i sold when i was young, before the collectorism began. All three were real nice. The one i still have ive raced in vintage races, and is in really nice shape itself. And of course i own a bunch of newer models, but will always be impartial to gold pans, and ive always been die hard associated. And i havent bastardized my gold pan with any brushless crap. All era correct electronics. Nice purchase you made there.

To bad I can’t share pictures I used to run Bud’s adjustable Bi level wings on everything they were more a On Road wing when used Off Road the second wing tended to break or pop off & you loose the clips during a rollover so many brands that have disappeared from the early days of RC We used to drill that hole in the side of the chassis to get to the servo saver while the servo was installed helpful when installing it and centering the steering
@RCRetro4 жыл бұрын
Hondo fourfivetwo yeah I realized that after in regard to the whole on the side of the chassis. Makes sense now. Still would have liked there to not be big whole there. On the other hand, if I run this, it’ll be easy to adjust the servo now.....
@RCRetro4 жыл бұрын
I meant to write hole not “whole”.

I found and purchased a CE rc10 with original box, instructions, add materials, tools, black grease tube, period correct AM radio, original AE manual speed control, AE motor, original tires still on car, unpainted body that's wasn't fully trimmed or fit to car yet, and was put together way back then found to be to much for their son and put away and forgotten until 4-5 months ago. Very few scratches on the underside and still needed final tuning. All for the price of 160.00 I dirtied myself when i found it on Craigslist. Box address just says Costa Mesa, Ca But instructions say Cadillac

Charles Moore that’s awesome. that’s one of those rare lucky finds. Right place at the right time. I have a friend who last month bought a mint NIB Tamiya Falcon for $165. Sometimes people don’t know what they have. Their loss and our gain. Thanks for comment and enjoy that RC10 championship edition

How much is one of the real stealth rc10 graphite worth in mint condition?? I have a few because I used to work at a hobby shop when I was young. They really are nice but I don't need so many! Info would be great! By the great video!

Ha, just gave 2 of these away 1 was never even driven, both vintage, dont look where people are selling gotta look where people have no idea what they have. I've heard these are hard to find over seas. Shit they are a dime a dozen her where I'm at. Find em on craigslist for next to nothing or free, as I gave mine away. Maybe I should thrown em on ebay, ha.

If you dont mind me asking, where do you live? I’m from NY. If I had to guess, where you are from based on “dime a dozen” I’d have to say California since that is where Team Associated is based out of. Correct?

@@RCRetro more north, up in seattle area. My local craigslist was once packet with gold pans. I think I even saw one the other day but I am more a crawler guy so 2x4 buggies dont usually catch my attention. But in telling you, 'rc car for sale' can be your best friend, ha.

Do you collect the rc10t by chance? I've got a first gen rc10t that I built back in 1987. it is in complete condition down to the tires wheels and body just put in motor and electronics and go. This truck was only run once or twice very little scratches on it.

I have an RC10 T3 which I absolutely love. I would like to add a RC10T to my collection especially since jconcepts makes the body again and has a variety of carbon fiber replacement parts out now for it. Team associates should just rerelease this already. Are you interested in parting with yours? Sorry, just have to ask as you never know. If not, enjoy it my friend. Take it for a light spin. Or I’ll gladly be interested in taking a look at it. Thanks
