I love when devs talk about other franchises, besides theirs, it makes me feel like they aren't just a big corporation that only talks about their games.

Very excited about this game. I love single-player rpg's but if anyone can pull this off, it's Todd Howard and his team at BSG. Can't wait to play coop.

You should all check out Danny O'Dwyer, should have plugged his youtube in the interview for NoClip because they make great documentaries for Gamers, crowdfunded by gamers and they are all thoughtful & respectful insights into many games that we know and love from Warframe, Doom, Witcher 3, Rocket League & Final Fantasy 15. They are all fantastic. Im super excited for this Fallout spin off after watching The Making Of, West Virginia looks to be a world created by Bethesda held in equal regard to any other Fallout world. Really excited to explore it with people.

A world without a single NPC. Sounds really equal to the others. I was optimistic about this project until I heard that magical fact.

James: they said they wanted to avoid how in MMO's you have questgivers just repeating the same lines of dialogue to players that are queuing or standing around. They dont want it to feel like a theme park of NPCs, so this Fallout has more emphasis on your own exploration of the world. Which I actually think is a nice way of putting it. There are NPCs though, not raiders (because in Lore they were early vault leavers) but intelligent Ghouls called The Scorched. So there are NPCs, just dont expect large communities of friendly AI characters to talk to.

I love how you mention MMO questgivers when talking about a completely singleplayer franchise that has nothing to do with a single MMO. Quick genuine question, have you ever played any online survival games?
@ABendzify
@ABendzify 6 жыл бұрын
You mean like how Elderscrolls was single player and is now an MMO, or Warcraft as a RTS is now an MMO? It's a spin off that not everyone will be into, and it's their take on a survival game which has 24-30 people maximum on a server which contains a very large map. It's still early days but im interested and excited to see how it'll be implemented for a world/lore that I love. Yes I have played online survival games, but none of them had anti-grief systems unless you had dedicated servers for it. I played ARK but couldnt because I kept thinking about what was happening to my things whilst offline (F76 all your things go offline when you do), Single player survival games though I've played are things like The Long Dark & Subnautica and I modded Skyrim with Needs, diseases & frostfall to be a survival game. It's clear to me that not everyone wants this but enough people want it for it to be a thing. Again, Im excited and looking forward to Bethesdas take on a survival game in the Fallout -verse.

I'm also exited for this SPIN OFF ;D people don't understand that! and they're acting like fallout is gonna become an online game when they have even said that the main franchises are single player- think of the save player 1 video they did ;D

That's a healthy attitude. So many entitled people angry about this, so hoping for other people's enjoyment is refreshing! I thought it wouldn't be for me, but watching this full documentary and thinking about it for a while, I think it might be interesting. If I can mostly ignore other players (and it sounds like I'll be able to) then this might be great

Fallout 3 is the reason the fallout/bethesda franchise is big. It was completely different than the first 2 Fallouts. So I trust Bethesda making calculated risks and giving us Fans a great game.

It's definitely not why Bethesda got big. The Elder Scrolls series is what made them big. Bethesda is definitely what made Fallout big though.

People love seeing the rough parts of an unfinished game in development, 99% of us know its not done and won't judge it from some monitors in the background. Quite often it has the opposite effect and gets people hyped more so

Firas Ziada They had to recode a lot of it. Most of the code was based around the player, such as the game only loading a certain area around the player. They had to redo all of this code to fit in multiple players

I buy fallout games for the story and immersion of scavenging a wasteland on your own. Bethesda has bended the lore to fit this cheap online gaming trend in order to maximize profit. I would be surprised if there is even a cohesive story considering theres NO npcs.

Angel Romell Colon i already have, the game seems to focus mostly on the 24-30 player base rather than a story. On top of that they now have micro transactions.. all of this would be fine in another game but when it comes to fallout it seems way off brand.
@feyn5869
@feyn5869 6 жыл бұрын
Fallout 2 was a turn based game. The Fallout "brand" is going to evolve whether you like it or not, not that I'm applauding their use of micro transactions, but changes are to be expected within a franchise.
