Want to chuck the generator and blackwater tank. Throw 1000 watts of solar on the roof is possible and get a Incenorator toliet and on demand hot water heater. Don't know how I'm going to do it yet , but those are the goals. If van lifers can do it, it should be possible for truck campers.

This is the most in depth features explanation I have seen in all the KZfaq Eagle Cap truck camper videos. I noticed that the 1200 model has under master bed storage where you can lift the bed at the near end and there is a reasonably large if not shallow storage area. Does the 1165 have this same feature?

It does not, unfortunately!

Is the overhead oven a combination microwave/convection oven or simply a microwave oven?
@RVTechToursatPrincessCraft3 жыл бұрын
Simply a microwave, if memory serves me correctly.

I would never but another Eaglecap truck camper! Poor slideout operation, water leaks, definitely not a all season camper, and manufacturer could care less about their quality issues!

@@petehaidinyak9084 Hey pete, how are the Host Mammoth? I'm looking to buy the best and largest, what would be your suggestion? You've had 3 so you are the best guy to ask. Thanks a lot.
@petehaidinyak90843 жыл бұрын
@@MaximusMerideus It depends on what is important to you. For me it was storage, th 1165 has the most storage of the large campers available. Since I'm going to travel alone have access to both sides of the bed was not important. The downsides to the 1165 is its dark inside. The kitchen could use a skylight. The AC unit is in the center, like most campers and it does not reach the bedroom. While there is a great deal of storage the kitchen is lacking. The 'panty' on the wall is only about 3-4 inches deep and you have to make sure everything fits. Under the sink is difficult to access and is dark. I added storage in the closet by the bathroom for the kitchen. I'm not sure on the Mammoth. I don''t understand the attraction to the 'fireplace'. Since I boondock I wouldn't use it. I didn't like that the bathroom is split, I like the separate bathroom in the 1165.

@@petehaidinyak9084 Thanks for taking the time to respond. Any of your knowledge really helps. I can't sleep when it's hot so I need to figure a way to be able to use the ac a lot. I might need to add extra Lithium batteries and a way to charge off the trucks alternator and of course more solar. Tough decisions. Thanks again, Pete.
@petehaidinyak90843 жыл бұрын
@@MaximusMerideus You will need to run a separate circuit from the truck battery to the camper and limit the current flow. The regular 7 pin connector can't handle the current a Lithium battery can draw while charging. I sent a note to the Eagle Cap manufacture to offset the AC unit. I'm going to run a ducting system on mine. I've got 500 watts of solar on my rig but I'm going to redo the entire system to move the batteries into the basement so I can have 660amp hour and a Victron multiplus 24/3000 to power the camper. Should help with the center of gravity too. I've got my camper on a RAM 5500 CA84 so I have room in front of my camper for a Honda 3000i generator and another 50 gallon tank. That will give me a total of 129 gallons of diesel. I also have a couple of thousand pounds of extra payload capacity. The Honda generator is extremely quiet and smooth. The Onan generators put in truck campers are very loud and shake the entire rig. Not having the Onan also removed weight off the back of the camper. I would also recommend a catalytic heater. I've got a Camco Olympian Wave 3. It keeps my rig warm without using much propane and no electricity.
