Almost didn't post because I thought the "shadowboxing" clip was a bit too goofy - even for me. I've gotten a lot of "how to warm up?" questions since the release of the routine. This is just my usual answer in video format.

Besides the jumping jacks, I would also add in 30 seconds each of arm crosses, arm circles, hip circles (SO important to warm up the core), knee circles (like a downhill skier) and neck rolls (break up all that gravel in your neck and shoulders). Old school, but effective! Way less chance of injury as a result 👍
@adagatiyascullawl34582 жыл бұрын
Why exactly is warming up the core so important? I'm not very knowledgeable in this
@tabularasa2 жыл бұрын
@@adagatiyascullawl3458 Well, think about how you feel when your body has been at rest, and your joints and muscles haven't moved much. In that state, you don't have much range of motion, and everything is a little stiff. If you suddenly picked up something very heavy in that state, you could likely hurt yourself, and damage your low back. Compare that to how you feel when you are all warmed up, capable of greater flexibility and exertion. Doing dynamic stretches before a workout (not static stretches-- save those for after the workout when your body is really warm and flexible) is vital for avoiding injury, but also for better performance all around. The core is the center of your whole body, literally, so you want to activate it properly, before you engage it intensely. This is why a lot of good workouts start with planks or pushups. Hope that helps.

Takes too long. For upper body i just do jumping jacks and arm circles.

Hello there! I just want to thank you for all the motivation, honesty and joy you bring to us. I really enjoy your videos. I had trouble to stick to a routine and a healthy diet since most fitness videos expect you to be fit already. But this is not the case for a lot of people. Sometimes I wasn’t even able to follow the exercises at all since they were just too hard for me. So I became sad and thought I’ll never make it and of course I gave up quickly. But now with your exercises and the different variations I finally begin to have fun while absolving them and it makes it easy for me to stick to my routine. You said it’s a progress and we all have to start somewhere. So one might starts on a higher level and another one starts on a lower level and it’s absolutely ok. :-) That made me happy. Finally someone who understands us. I already lost weight. My back pain is gone and I’m fit for the day. Also I changed my eating habits. It’s so easy to eat healthy. I finally love to go outside and just walk around. It’s almost a wonder since I was more or less numb and unable to enjoy things or being active at all for years. I was never fat but still weak and a little overweight. I enjoy the progress and the positive feelings I earn from this. Again, thank you so much. I wish all the people here a happy life and being able to reach their personal goals.
