⅔ cup frozen blueberries
3/4 cup plain fat free Greek yogurt
3 tablespoons rolled oats

Hi Josh, thanks for your vid. I have one more small addition for your protein shake. Instead of sunflowerseeds (or papitas), use hemp seed and/or ciaseed. Why? These two types of seeds contain the most protein, especially hemp seeds and a high dose of omega 3. Sunflower seeds mainly contain omega 6. The difference is that omega 3 inhibits inflammation in your body and helps build your body. Omega 6 causes inflammation, especially given the large amounts we consume (vegetable oils). THIS. VIDEO. RIGHT. HERE! I am very overweight and hubby & I are both having some major health issues. We want to eat healthier. I plan on getting a ninja creami when we get a house. I have been looking at all of the protein powders out there and let me tell you...some of them dont sound much better for you than the processed foods we eat! I want to make shakes but im highly allergic to sugar alcohols-anything that ends in tol. Im also allergic to hemp so thats out. And i dont do sucralose etc so THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!

I’m so glad someone is talking about this. Starting my health journey (physically, mentally and emotionally), one thing I really started to pay attention to is the ingredients in all of the foods that are in the grocery stores… and I wanted to bring in a higher protein intake in my daily life. Protein powders have so much in them that people aren’t aware of and I’ve sorted through what I could possibly try. I’ve only found 1 brand, a Canadian brand that don’t have all the bad ingredients in them. However, these shakes you’ve made look great to try out!

@@samatayosfitness6082 I usually look at the ingredient list on any protein powders and any food in general in the grocery stores. There are quite a bit of processed sweeteners and such.

Well done some great ideas for protein shake But never add ice to make it cold should be at room temperature for enzymes to more effectively activate At a metabolic and nutrient absorption fact!

I don’t remember where I read it (or if some nutritionist said it), but that you shouldn’t use almond, oat, etc milk in your smoothie cause it slows down the absorption of the protein, etc… also, you shouldn’t add any blueberry’s (or anything ending in “berry”) with a banana… the nutrients in the banana neutralize the antioxidant properties of the blueberries… that was from two nutritionists on AthlenX’s channel… thoughts?

They look great. Think I will combine both into one shake. I will leave out the seeds. Maybe a spoon of honey if it needs it. Probably wont need it with all the fruit in there. Thanks for sharing. Have never found a protein shake in a jug that didn’t make me feel bad after.

UNFLAVOURED = Whey Protein Concentrate (Milk) (100%) (contains Emulsifiers (Soya Lecithin, Sunflower Lecithin) I never opt for the flavoured versions. Pepitas - can not see that in the ingredient list. 06:20 try using a coffee grinder. Consider - Hemp seeds ( buy with the husk and then use coffee grinder to keep the fibre higher ) Excellent source of essential fatty acids Contains all 20 amino acids that the body needs to create a complete protein source High in fibre Great source of vegan protein Cheers for uploading and sharing.

What are your thoughts about adding powdered/freeze-dried eggs to either one of those mixes? I'll opt for plain water over almond milk. Almond milk isn't exactly "almond" all the time. A lot of those plant-based "milks" have a lot of junk/chemicals in them as well.

If you like, you can mix all the dry ingredients together and store it in a container. When you want a smoothie, add yogurt, ice and fruit and you're ready to blend. Hope it works out if you decide to try it.

Thoughts on fats with my protein post workout meal? I do a lower carb diet. High protein moderate fats. I know carbs are good to replenish glycogen postwork. Just wondering how fats would do instead

I respect all who embark on the journey to take better care of themselves mentally spiritually and physically. With that being said most of those so-called protein shakes are 🗑. Most of it goes to waste in your body's metabolism cycle during movement while using the bathroom. I'm 42 years old been ( thank you lord) consistently on this journey since HS. Me and my friends never purchased or consumed anything from GNC or the likes of. Just proper rest in between workouts and a nice variety of poultry vegetables and fruits. All 5 of us are well-built and played semi-pro sports together etc. We go to the gym kick it with the younger guys get some rips in with them and it's very common to hear or be asked If we take anything? Absolutely not. Again, this isn't a slight at anyone. Do you. Once you fully understand muscle stimulation and recovery you learn that muscle tissue is mostly made of water Brain/Heart and in between mostly water. Your body converts sugars into water for absorption. My coach always joked with us saying companies can't sell you water in the mail lol .... So now we have all these companies packaging up their jars with fancy labels as if it is somehow new and improving and It is not. For reference when I get up I have a banana greek yogurt and water before leaving the house. After a workout before work, I have 4 eggs and 2 turkey sausage patties toast with a coffee ☕️ 😋. For lunch, a giant chicken salad and tuna sandwich chased with water. In between munching on trail mix and snacks etc. Everyone rates metabolites differently so it's best to get your levels from your doctor and go from there. Sorry for the long comment I truly respect all those on that journey to better themselves but don't let marketers juice you into thinking you need their products when all you need is discipline and action. One ❤️.
