Most of the comments I get from people who are intimidated by making their own bread is centered around kneading the dough. In this video I go through the entire process of mixing and kneading the dough without editing so you get a full appreciation for the entire process and technique involved.
So get your ingredients out and lets bake some bread together.

Hey, how can you be sure that the inside has cooked all the way? Sometimes when I do bread the outside is cooked, but inside still raw.

Make sure you preheat the oven before putting the bread in. 350 degrees is a good temperature to stick with. Always use the middle rack. And a bread should take about 25 minutes to cook properly. When it comes out of the oven, give it some time to cool. At least 10 minutes.

And even if the dough is not sticky,bread was always made with butter,in Trinidad and Tobago. In this new age its all about health, And what butter or better yet olive oil does with high Carbohydrate food,is that it slows down Carbohydrate from turning into Sugar to fast in our bodies,knowing the problems with Diabetes. But I still appreciate your videos.

Good morning, why so much kneading, then proof again before baking? Are we trying to develop gluten into the flour? Why add the yeast into the flour dry mixture and not into the luke warm milk? Plus will the coconut or almond milk makes any difference in the outcome of the bread. I know it is too many questions above, for my breads always comes out like a stone (rock or boulder) to bust head, lol Thanks for taking the time to responds to where I may be going wrong. Happy Weekend & Week
@eatahfood
@eatahfood 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, the kneading time is to develop the gluten. The 2nd proof enhances the texture and flavour of the bread and gives the yeast more time to work. You don't need to add instant yeast to the warm milk for it to activate. Other non dairy milks that don't contain fat will give a different final product. If your bread isnt rising properly it could be the temperature of your room, or the yeast might be dead. If the liquid is too hot it will kill the yeast as well so better to go with room temp if you are not sure. Have a great weekend as well
