It's just steeped in horrors beyond comprehension in a realm of death trapped behind a wall of ghoul mist 🤷

Hmm. Well. *Spoiler thoughts for the middle of the episode* . . . . . . . . . . . Phillip seemingly casually summoning a massive army of the Dead, including the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse makes me not trust him at all any longer given all that has occurred so far. If he has all of this power, what the hell does he ACTUALLY need the party (now down two members) for? All of this power, and NONE of it helped him to either forsee, or prevent the Crooked House shenanigans either the first or this second time that he sent the party into the House until immediately after everything was resolved in both instances. It didn't help in clearing up the House's super curse even after being explicitly told about it by the party, or in making it safe after the first incident (clearly), and he again only helped immediately after the party had dealt with everything in Cyril. He also seemed remarkably cold when the party told him about the loss of Faryn and Yorgrim 1:40:10 - 1:46:29 , and his response is "Ah. My condolences." then immediately refocused on Adela. "Quite the wild ride you guys found yourselves on, wasn't it?" Uhh.. Yeah Phil, two of our friends just were brutally killed in front of us due to a haunted mansion that you led us into, twice. "I will think of them fondly." I get that Adela is his whole world, and he's been shown to be... a bit disconnected from the people in his land in general with the exception of her before this point, but I would think that would make him more sympathetic to the party losing two of their friends within the last hour, and certainly not react to their loss in the way he did. I understand that this all could just be him being aloof, and not really considering anybody but Adela, but it seems totally disconnected from understanding that the people working for him just suffered an immense loss, and prevented him from experiencing the same. When he says he'll destroy the house NOW, it strikes me as a bit odd since he says "I can't allow something like this to remain in my land. Filled with evil! It almost killed me Wife. It kept me from my Wife!". There is TONS of random other evil stuff all over your land that you are either oblivious about, can't, or won't take care of with your immense army of the Undead, powerful artifacts, and personal power - this seems more like he's hiding something, and at the very least it's inconsistent. Then there is him saying "You wouldn't understand what this must have been like for Adela" shows a lack of empathetic awareness on his part that is even more suspicious. Him offering their rewards now seems less like a gesture of goodwill in this instance, and more like bait to keep the party on task and doing what he wants, and not turning against his goals. I think the party is going to have to fight Phillip eventually in the campaigns future, whether he is the real big bad or not. But I could easily be overanalyzing, these are just my thoughts.
