Mahkota Parade was established in 1994 on reclamation land that was 50 years ago all sea. It was built by the same developer which also built Mahkota Medical Centre next to the mall, and Mahkota Apartment across the street. If you are looking for henna, I suggest go to the Dataran Pahlawan mall (also across the street) which has many smaller kiosks with lower rent compare to Mahkota Parade.

Malacca or Melaka brings back childhood memories for me during the early 70s living in Garden City of Bandar Hilir near an old Portugese settlement near the beach and schooled at the Bandar Hilir English School in front of the now Dataran Pahlawan till 1973. That name GC now already not heard of anymore since the 90s. Melaka was then not even a touristy state. The A Famosa Portugese old fort was just there for us kids to go play and sometimes pee in it after school😅
