Sis, I can't believe you said that the water in Penang is crystal celar 😀. Penang may have nice beaches, but not the best. You should go to the east coast like Redang or Perhentian, or if you want the full Maldive experience, go to Semporna in Sabah.

Malls/shopping centres - I would run a mile from such places. Surely, there are local restaurants and street vendors who would benefit from people spending their money with them rather than huge corporate organisations in a shopping centre. Malaysia is definitely on my wish list to visit as a tourist, but at 65 I'm not thinking of moving country again. I moved from the UK to Spain in 2017 (for the second time), and if we rely on vlogs to make decisions, then many people could be disappointed. There is more to moving country to just the benefits of the new lifestyle, assuming one can afford them in the first place. There are many factors that could make or break the success of any such move to another country. However, with the right attitude, as you clearly have, then the experience can be very rewarding despite any pitfalls there might be along the way.

Salam sister. I'm originally from Penang and while the beach is nice, the sea is just average at best. If you want a Maldives like experience, I strongly suggest you to go to the east coast states of Peninsular Malaysia (Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan). There you can hop on to various islands where the sand is white and the sea is crystal clear with turquoise color. Nevertheless if you want to experience the jewel in the crown of Malaysian beauty then Sabah state in Malaysian Borneo is a must. One of the world's best diving spot is located there which is Sipadan, Mabul-Kapalai islands. Go to the town of Semporna in Sabah, from there you can take boat to these stunning islands. All the best.

Could you please do a video on this, id really like to know if there are affordable options for us there. Hi sis, been binge watching ur vids! We are seriously considering relocating to Malaysia but a big sticking point for is Schools. Have 3 kids, aged 13, 12 and 6. Are british schools there very expensive? I remember u saying u had a 15 year old.. would he be able to do uk equivalent GCSEs there?
@cececonnie55093 ай бұрын
Typical international schools are expensive. We pay £20k/year for two primary kids in private school in the UK, i expect to pay £28k/year in Malaysia for 2 kids. However there are also cheaper international schools, and also cheaper private schools (not international level). Need to do research which schools are in your budget
@sabrina2uk3 ай бұрын
Gosh so more expensive then UK then. My husband is a dentist and im also learning that the salary for dentists is alot less lucrative then here in the UK. With 2 kids of secondary age and one primary school, im thinking it may not be affordable for us I would want a uk equivalent education for my kids in case we return to the UK.
