1B Umpire/Crew Chief Jerry Meals ejected Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah when he hit Orioles batter Maikel Franco after giving up back-to-back home runs, resulting in a benches-clearing incident. Report: www.closecallsports.com/2021/...
Gil also notices a peculiar ambient noise in Baltimore and reminds organizations with multi-million dollar payrolls to hire and pay people fair, living wages, and not to undercut people who need jobs to survive.

The rant about the organist was better than the hit by pitch! I have a hockey background so I think it's funny about the bench clearing brawls or hugfests in baseball, especially the bullpens. Hockey you pay a big price coming off the bench, do the same in baseball and the same for the bullpen.

100% Agree! MLB should toss any player who comes out of the bullpen or dugout, or the on-deck hitter if he intercedes. Keep disagreements strictly between the umpires, mgrs, and involved players.

Yes, you can and should put in a copyright claim on this video. In fact as a publish musician you should include greater than 30 seconds of your music on every video and then make a claim on it. KZfaq will split the ad money equally between all copyright claimants. This is a rather common way to monetize on KZfaq.

The umpire did eject the pitcher but Gil has info that there is a MLB policy that the umpires get together before ejecting a pitcher in the case of an intentional throw at batter, edit: 6:40 also "can't unilaterally throw out or warn..." Therefore the umpire is not allowed to throw out the pitcher right away in this situation, he must meet and discuss and/or confirm the ejection before making said ejection.

In the case of back-to-back bombs... well, not so much.. but one in a while you need to make the hitter uncomfortable in the box.. and plunking a guy will do that. The problem is in today's sport with the many diva's.. getting hit is now considered offensive rather than gamesmanship... much like those same Diva's constantly argue ball/strikes even though the rule is quite plain about what will happen.... Personally, a player that charges the mound is gone... game over... Message to umpires: Stop touching players! They can't touch you, keep your hands to yourself. Cruise for feeling up men after the game. Stand back, take notes on what you see and either resume the game or toss guys.

Pitch slips and he gets ejected. Same thing happened to Roy Halladay in Tampa years ago. The hate for the Jays is real.

NO WAY it was intentional. If it was not why did the umpire eject him?

Did you really spend like 5 minutes talking about organ music, who cares!

Well, considering that the person editing, commenting on, and uploading the video is the person who wrote the music being played, I think it's a valid concern.

It's someone's livelihood. You shouldn't have a professional sports franchise using someone's work and not compensating them for it or not respecting their wishes on when and where it can be used.
