Using corded and cordless electric chainsaws to cut down a dead peach tree in our backyard, a comparison. Also, using the peachwood chunks to smoke our Thanksgiving turkey in a Smokin'Tex electric smoker.

I bought the Harbor Freight and I have Ryobi One tools. When you see smoke, the blades are definitely dull and that Ryobi chainsaw definitely doesn't look old or heavily used. Harbor Freight sells an excellent chain sharpener as well. Needless to say, I'm happy with my Harbor Freight chainsaw. Unbeatable value

Not sure why but I enjoy watching trees being cut down and wood being chopped up! I have a corded saw, I forgot which model because I haven't used it in about 6 months but it works great. I don't do heavy duty work so I got an electric rather than a gas. Didn't want to mess with the mess of a gas motor. I did cut down a friend's peach tree and used the wood for smoking ribs and it was delicious. Peach is a great smoking wood.

you don't move a chainsaw back and forth, let the saw do the work and by all means keep chain sharp and adjusted and fill with chain oil.

The Ryobi chain at 4:37 is way too loose for efficient cutting. The Ryobi was borrowed so the chain is probably in need of sharpening also. No wonder the wood smokes. It's also a safety hazard, too.

I have goosebumps when I see this!! 1. the cordless saw either has no lubricating oil, or the saw chain is totally blunt, or the chain is mounted incorrectly and runs backwards. That is why the smoke and the malfunction.. 2. But the worst thing is that someone is relying on God for protection and is therefore not wearing leather gloves or protective clothing (arms). the unproven sky daddy has never protected anyone... but the effect of protective clothing can be proven...
@alexermerson
@alexermerson 7 жыл бұрын
Adjusting the angle as you cut is fine, but stroking the chainsaw back and forth like a hand saw is wasted effort. A dull chain cuts lousy no matter how good the saw and that chain is extremely dull as evidenced by the heat generated.This is not in any way a valid comparison between cordless vs corded. Sharpen (and tighten) the chain, then compare.

Each time you stroke that blade back and forth on the first cut the chain cut through a quarter inch with each stroke. No safety gear at all?? Second cut I saw a little flame appear in the smoke. Dull. Sharpen. Stone quarry work is more manly than chopping wood but you've got a Grunsford Bruks ax so guess you know the best in hand cutting tools. Move the blade of a hand saw to cut wood, not the chainsaw. Looks funny to professionals. Smoke some meat.

I also want to buy the NEW Lynnx 14" 40V lithium battery chainsaw that comes with 40V battery and charger for $169. When it goes on SALE for $150. I will buy it.
