This is the Runsten Racing Enduro electric dirtbike. Custom built with the Lightning Rods XL motor and a High Voltage controller package this bike is some of the most fun you can have in the snow. Unlike a gas bike its also whisper quiet. Marcus designed and built many of the components on this bike! Great job. If you are interested in Lightning Rods or the controller kits we do at High Voltage feel free to join our Discord server.

Dunno why my last comment didn't stick.. I've got the build log online with loads of pictures and closeups, and just let me know if you want plans or CAD-files.

Even a surron with a primary belt isn't that quiet, I would take these over an ultra bee any day 👍

@@polunu the single stage drive with a well lubricated chain is pretty silent so all you can hear is the motor whine. On harder surface the noice from the tires are all you hear until the wind drowns all sound. :)

Yeah, that went as expected 😂 I tried out some 6" snowfall on my fat bike, it made me wish for some hockey style armor...

Cyclone id want one just need it in not fat tire bikes..getting sick of them, they hydroplane rather have 27 or 26 thin 30mm tires. But a cool track mod would be sick
@marcusrunsten
@marcusrunsten 4 ай бұрын
A track mod is on the way. We've got regular 27.5" bikes for summer riding and on-road. These I built for winter and dirt tracks.. :) I'll probably put proper offroad tires on there in the future but they're fun as is at the moment

@HighVoltageKits bit of an off topic question for this video, but I was curious do the bac855 kits have lighting options, like for example if I wanted to run a regular Bbshd lighting kit with it? Or would I have to have a unique lighting setup separate from the main harness?
@HighVoltageKits
@HighVoltageKits 3 ай бұрын
You can sometimes trip a relay but the current is so low you are better off not direct using them for lighting

@@HighVoltageKits gotcha secondary question if you don’t mind, I noticed that many people use a power on and off button, would I be able to use a key switch instead? Sorry if this sounds like an amateur question I just don’t have much experience with any of ASI’s products.

whoa! that steering input tho. steer with the pegs, right? I dunno about snow but I dirt bike in sand all the time. does the same rule apply? handlebar steering works but it will mentally tire you out and then smoosh 😉
@CamiloSantana
@CamiloSantana 4 ай бұрын
I will admit steering with the pegs will tire your legs out but at least it keeps you in good shape. I do a mix of both. when it's as squirrely as this trail is, pegs all the way
@marcusrunsten
@marcusrunsten 4 ай бұрын
Yup, I've gone a lot of rally riding in the Sahara and other places and it's similar but the snow is much more random. Compare it to going through feshfesh with a really uneven surface under.. when the snow is firm enough to ride on its like you say, stand up, knees to the "tank" and steer with the pegs, but when the wheels cut through the surface randomly and there's 50cm of sugary powder under you'll go OTB all the time.. so this ride, sitting down using the feet as skis and trying to steer with the handlebar was the easiest way to do it.. :) Also, this is about the third time my kid rides a motorcycle style bike so I'd say he's doing a stellar job of it. It took much less effort riding the way I did it.. :)

@@marcusrunsten I didn't think about the varying pack. and yes, I do the handlebar input method when I'm tired too 😉 but boy can it go wrong fast when train density changes.
