I am really enjoying the content since you got your own place. You seem much more relaxed and this comes across in the way you make videos and that you now share a lot more with us. I wonder if your old boss had some rules on what you could shoot and now of course you can shoot whatever you like. It's like everything has loosened up and you are happier, much more content and at ease. It puts a genuine smile on my face for you.

The shop I work at is a local mom and pop shop. Couple months back had a paper next to the time clock said no pictures or videos allowed in the shop. One guys snapchat story was all it took, granted we're goofy mfs. I'm sure any corporation/big company would have more strict rules from the beginning.
@Tromador

Hi@@DirtiestDan6969. Don't misunderstand, whatever else they may have disagreed about it was honestly pretty cool of the old place to let Ray make videos at all. I would be surprised if there were not some rules and that's perfectly reasonable. It's fun to see the difference when there are no rules and Ray can do his thing but a bit more relaxed and a bit more, I dunno if informal is the right word, friendlier maybe? It's the same stuff, but with a bit of an extra dimension and I am liking the change.

I live in NE Ohio, too. When I bought my 6-7 year old Rav4, they had spray painted the wheels and any exposed metal silver (to match the car's color). I spotted it right away; nothing on the wheels was flat. The look was bumpy and crusty. I like driving my Rav4, but as usual for a northen car, that rust is starting to come through.

I did some work on a Dodge Stratus, Horrible design for the battery by the way. From it being in the wheel well the water splashed up under the guards made the battery leak on the frame combined with road salt ate the entire battery mount and lower frame away had to cut it all out and weld into a new assembly. Fun times.

That looks more like a street-tower 5G implementation to me. They're usually from 10-35 feet tall. Same with gunshot alert systems but the mics on those have to be 1-3 feet from each other, and they usually overhang the road or walkway some too, and sometimes have dome-style cameras on them too (to look for muzzle flash). Anyway, good find on the hard to find part, I'm sure the customer appreciates it. Good content as always!

Sounds like it. I had my exhaust manifold leak repaired yesterday on my 2006 GMC 2500hd 6.0 vortec. It happened two weeks ago annoying. Mechanic found a bunch of broken manifold bolts I had the truck since new it only took about 16yrs for them to break.

Hi Ray, I'm unsure if you notice but the rubber dust seal on the track rod end O/S had a small split in it even though they came with the steering mechanism. Hope you don't mind me asking Ray, but when you left your other place of work did they have any indication that you were going to go alone?

@@combatkarl965 OK, that makes sense. But Ray's video a month ago had the heading was "I got fired!" So based on that remark and what Ray stated, I thought maybe his old place of work found out but obviously not, going by your comments. Anyway, has I previously mentioned in that video and others, I wish him all the luck in his new endeavours.

I replaced a steering rack on my own car years ago. The trick I used was to measure from the outer tie rod to the other outer tie rod. The threads can be slightly different from one rack to another, especially if it uses different manufacturers inner or outer tie rods.

I'd have to clean up the bolts and lubricate before refitting them, for important bolts I would use a torque wrench. That said these are very enjoyable videos. Good luck Ray with your new business.
@andries4561

Torque setting is usually right in the middle of snug and breaking point of said fastener, doing them like this surely gets them past the torque spec but they don't break so its all good. I understand a Torque wrench is good, but most technicians know how tight stuff needs to be

Ray if you look around for more of the mysterious black speaker poles and you find them then yes they are shot dectors. It take more than one to triangulate where the shot came from within 100 yards .

I recall US Humvees had them installed in Afghanistan and Iraq to detect the direction of a sniper shot. Was a pole with a set of microphones pointing in all directions - and the mystery box in the cab would triangulate depending on how many seconds it took to get to each microphone.
