30 years ago I did sound on sound on a 4 track cassette recorder and my Korg ms 20 that I bought in 1978 for about 450 euro. I made loops but had no sequencer so I had to play it. After a while I considered myself as a failure because I could not change chord. Everything was just moving statically. So I moved to the piano to write melody lines with chords. Now after all these years and listening to carbon based life forms and others I realise what I did was much better than I thought. I have to buy some new equipment. There are too many things to choose from out there. I need something easy to understand.

*THE BEST* demo of both A4/AK yet! Really love the in-set screen-shot. Please do more in this format! Has been the most help for me as an A4 owner and plan to buy the AK...still keeping the A4.

Very nice sounds there my friend. The zoom screen of what you are doing is VERRRY helpful.

This is one of the best synth of latest years. I am glad to own one even if it's not so easy to use. I really do not understand why have become so cheap on 2nd hand market

This is absolutely terrific. Thank you for sharing. I got my Keys a couple of weeks ago and I find your video incredibly helpful in finding my way through it. Gosh, this must be the most versatile and sonically capable synthesiser money can buy now...

Just love this video. What a great showcase of just a few things that can be done with this synth. Amazing piece of hardware I just was fortunate enough to find locally... and I am not even a key player per se'. SO many sounds and sound types... and to my ears and studio monitors... can sound shiny bright, phat buzzy lows, sharp, warm, and sequenced. Brilliant. Thank you!

Have just been watching a pro 2 sequencing video which made my head hurt, this is refreshingly all music . This is far more my zone. Sure it hasn’t got all the bells and whistles but when it comes to workflow. Already got the rytm so have a grasp on elektrons way of doing things admittedly I’ve not mastered it like you but cheers for the inspiration 👍

You're right! Been using a lot of VST's over the last years but I really picture my sound through hardware now. Still, plugs can be good additions though. We're so lucky lately with all these new stuff that combine the best of analog and digital. It's even hard to schedule our wish as so many great keys and modules are available or soon will be. But that's a lot of money to save...
@greeneyeddevil725110 жыл бұрын
Yeah... I have a "virtual 303" on one of my programs, so lately I've been using that in basically EVERYTHING. It's like 1996 all over again. lol

@dudewhosaysarrh8 жыл бұрын
+intheb.link Its an amazing sounding machine and its extremely flexible. It also enables you to Create entire songs and arrangements with it, almost like a workstation. But it requires a lot of in depth studying since the operating system is extremely complex. The downloadable manual is about 128 pages and you definitely need that one since the included quickstart manual is next to useless.

@neoseyes9 жыл бұрын
I was thinking about the same thing. Only black keys. And in the beginning I did not know what to make out of it. When you hit a note on the piano its first of all a rhythm thing. The basis of living is action. Melody arises from the grove of life.

thanks for showing me something other then edm with this. It for me is between this and the prophet 6
@rachelhilgert6928 жыл бұрын
+Araphel Khafre I just ordered one. I was also considering the 6. I have given up on saying, "this is the last synth I'll ever buy." Simply because I've bout a lot of synths lately. Synth players have a lot of synths because they all sound different. And software synths are great but I somehow just don't care. I have a Blofeld, an Arp, and a Streichfett so far. The AK will be here in a few days. I'm still going to get the 6 eventually, but to be honest, I think this blows it away in many ways. Have you ever heard a synth like this ? I haven't. It's in a class all by itself for sound textures.

@the_astro_garden4 жыл бұрын
I've had my AK for a few years now, so many nice new products but the AK still gives me no reason to want more in sound. This synth is very deep and easy to learn if you invest time. The workflow is intuitive once you apply yourself, it becomes 2nd nature, just look at this video being played live. Most of all though, just listen to the sounds and flexibility, really listen....
@JohanWave4 жыл бұрын
Bill Kaloudis I have this synth and love the sound too. I just got to invest more time to learn it more deeply. I almost sold it a while ago, glad I didn’t. Such a great instrument.
@the_astro_garden4 жыл бұрын
@@JohanWave You also need to consider the inputs, outputs, FX, CV and midi control, a most advance sequencer even by today's standards this synth offers plus Overbridge - It was ahead of its game and even today, June 2020, so many years later, I am in awe of the Analog Keys. I come back to this casual performance and listen often, its so good.
@user-fo5bw6kl4d Жыл бұрын
@@the_astro_garden well I’m from 2023 and can tell you it still sounds great and for connectivity it still beats most of todays. Currently toying between one of these or a digitakt and a decent midi keyboard. I have other analogue synths so looking for a centre piece heard the digitakt is pretty damn good at that. What do you think? Downside is it has no cv but I could get around that.
@ripaulac9 жыл бұрын
Is this basically an Analog Four w keys? I really like your music. I'm going to the band camp right now.

Played with analog keys at the store, very nice. I wish the screen was bigger, so much empty space on the right to move the knobs...
@user-fo5bw6kl4d Жыл бұрын
9 years in the future here and still no analog keys mk2 figure I’ll be spending a lot of time squinting at that screen so also wishing it was bigger. You heard any rumours of a mk2?
@user-fo5bw6kl4d Жыл бұрын
MrDatline your close with elektron, do you think we will ever see a mk2 of the analog keys or should I give up hope and just get one of these used?!

I don't know what I am talking about but watching the recent developments and Elektron's history I feel like they're going to be focusing on different kinds of machines from now on, so probably not? Just my humble opinion.

Does anyone know how this compares to a moog sub 37?
@SuperMegaWoofer30008 жыл бұрын
completely different beasts, the keys is a poly that can become 4 monos each with their own sequences and effects and things, the sub37 is a mono with paraphonic capabiilty and no on-board effects, the signal chain is 100% analog. i have a sub37 and it's awesome, but as a stand-alone device the keys allows you to build little tracks like demo'ed here... if i were to have one or the other with nothing else i'd go the keys, sub37 is a good compliment to an existing set of gear :) i'm sure that compared as monos, the moog would be much better, but they're really two different things!!!
@qutip148 жыл бұрын
+Ryan Allen what is the learning curve of the keys compared to the sub 37? Or are they about the same?
