I have no idea, why women don't believe their children when they tell them they have been sexually abused by anyone. Why would your child lie?? That's a horrible accusation to make, why would a child think of that
@Tattersayl8 жыл бұрын
+Anna Heart Not true... some people just don't want to believe that could happen and so refuse to believe their child when they get the courage to say something. It's extremely sad, and in the case of abuse like this ALWAYS BELIEVE YOUR CHILD.
@Tattersayl8 жыл бұрын
+Anna Heart Oh absolutely, they can (it's a weird thing for a child to make up though, honestly). All I was saying is never tell them you don't believe them... don't dismiss it. Believe them because when it is true... your dismissal could very well have been a death sentence down the road. (I use "you", generally, not you directly).

Some do. Very few, but there are a small percentage of women who know what power these allegations can hold against a man and they use that. They shouldn't but some do, and it can destroy a mans life

There are a lot of things we can't understand because we were not there and each situation is different as the people in them. First of all, a child that has been abused, often times acts out. They become the problem child. Others become the model compliant child. Either way, the parent the child turned to, could have been abused and never dealt with it properly. Denial is a survival technique. It's a known fact, abused (in all its forms, sexual, physical, alcoholism, drugs etc) people attract abusers. This is how it perpetuates itself.....until one person breaks free, gets help and stops the cycle.

The abused & downtrodden are the most grateful of all for any days of grace as they know the difference between the state of grace they live in & the alternative. You can still be caught in different types of abusive/controlling relationships that you can't rid yourself from & you will still be more grateful than others as you are grateful that it is mental or emotional manipulation from outside your home rather than physical abuse inside your home. The difference is known where as those who have never been a long term victim do not feel gratitude on that level.

I just saw ur video. My daughter was molested from 3-4 years old. We found out when she was 5. It was a family member. We IMMEDIATELY took her to her pediatrician who verified she was molested and we then got her in to therapy. After a year of therapy and her being so young, her therapist said there wasn’t much she could do at this age. But, when she turned 14 the affects of it started to come out, she started smoking pot, we later found out “it’s the only time I don’t feel the pain and think about killing myself!” Well it was that minute that I realized my baby died when she was 3years d and I was just looking at the shell of my daughter and her sole was killed. She had been in therapy now for two years and started doing much better. However when she turned 17 and started dating, the flashbacks of what was done to her came out and she’s back in therapy and doing so much better, she’s fighting her way back to being happy & healthy! The person who molested her was sentenced to two years and then probation. Part of their release from probation was to apologize to my daughter, which happened! However, shortly after that, the person now DENISE EVERYTHING and is telling everyone that it was all a lie and they didn’t do anything to my baby girl! I wanted to KILL them! We ended up moving from NY to FL to get away from all of it and she’s doing so much better! I’m so VERY sorry for what happened to u, it breaks my heart for u 💔 if u ever want to talk, being the mom of a victim, I will always be here to listen to anyone molested and help in any way I can.... ❤️ a survivors mom THE WORST PART IS THE PERSON WHO MOLESTED MY BABY GIRL WAS A GUEST ON THE ELLEN SHOW, FAKING CANCER & GIVEN A HUGE CHECK!!!! It triggered a severe emotional breakdown for my daughter and it’s been a BATTLE for her to get back to herself!!!

@Lucia Kuchiki Hi, Lucia, here's what do I think...next ; Would it be a valid ilibi to turn my sexuallity away if a woman or man did rape me, Lucia ? Or like many others victims of rape we do try to regain our sexuality balance and keep resentment at bay so such person can't keep hurting us for the rest of a lifetime. Hope for the best this comment of me makes sense to you what really can take place after being sexually rape. That's light at the end of the tunnel knowing others were already there and they did fight back to regain self-confidence in their own sexuality with much of success. Would you allow other person made primary wrong choices of a great important 'internal descisions' that deprive you to follow your "born-nature" course ? Let's not throw the towel and internally let's put a real fight against a decision we didn't have to do with, in first place because we didn't consented o agreed with it as many times it may happened. It won't make a bad person IF a internal spiritual fight took place to makes us stronger like using the stumbling rock to step further and ever looked back into such direction or the lesser as possible. Can you picture a good Samaritan Christian in you not helping others from your past experiences that made you stronger ? Hope not ! regardless of any little set back.

The fact that her mother had had a Mastectomy, now accounts for why she cried in an interview with Emily Bear, when Emily told Ellen that the money from the copyright from one of her songs, was going to Cancer Research as Emily's Grandmother was a breast cancer survivor. Also in another interview with Emily, when they show a photo of the new pet " a mini Golden doogle"(?), and the similarity of the dog which Ellen had adopted off the street. Ellen was so enthusiastic and laughed at the similarity. I find it irrelevant whether she is gay (whatever you want to call it), it does not come over in her presentations and until this event has never mentioned it, nor since. It takes courage to disclose the information she does particularly about the fact that she was abused as a child; to a certain degree it may account for why she has an "affection" for women since it would appear she cannot trust men (and not unreasonably) . I am a straight male, but would never hold the fact she has attraction to the same sex, as an issue. The only time I get cross with gay people, is when they try to assert their sexuality on other people. Ellen has never done that in any of her shows, and the way she deals with children is a model to all adults on how a child should be treated. Perhaps it because her father interfered with her as a child, is why she feels so at ease and empathetic to people who have been in distress. You have done nothing wrong Ellen, you are very brave to "come out", even though I didn't thing that you needed to do so- people should take you for what you are: a caring person, as demonstrated with the way you interview your guests and in paticular children. You always treat them with respect, and I have noticed that when you greet children you always get down to their height by kneeling down and giving them a hug. You are certainly not a risk, and will keep reviewing this board to see your shows. My very best wishes and commendation for your bravery in disclosing what you did and the fact that you cared for your lost dog endorses you humanity. Chris R. London.

I can relate to the not being believed when someone molests you. My foster father was a minister. They were a wonderful family from all outward appearances, however in order to keep her husband away from their biological children they adopted me. He molested me from the age of 9-15 and eventually raped me. When I finally told some people in our church they called me a liar and demanded that I leave their home. This has caused scars that will never heal but it also taught me the importance of always speaking up. I feel for everyone in these situations. Later on I found out that my foster mother knew all along but hoped that as I got older I would be able to fend him off by myself. It never happened. I am who I am today largely because I had no advocate in my corner. I was seen as the dirty and wrong girl who had a big mouth. Stings.

I used to be like that. I thought gay people were weird and gross, but then a girl I dated in high school I found out was bi sexual and she convinced to come with her to a meeting with the schools gsa club, it changed my whole world when it came to people not just gay people but people in general. arguably the biggest lesson I learned in high school is, the way we treat others should not be determined by the people we fall in love with.

lionel wraithwood Yep. Life is too short to go about judging other people's business. Besides, That phenomenon could happen to one's family member or child, then one would stop judging. +Anna Heart a lot of straight people get sexualy abused too, that should get reasearch too dont you think, and dating people of a gender you dont like is called experimentation, you can think you are straight because thats what is expected so you date boys 'cause thats what you are supposed to do, until you explore you'll find out if you really like boys, or girls, or both, or all, or neither, most people start assuming they are straight, until they decide to experiment or aknoleage any other parts of them they really know

I'm glad I'm gay, it's forced me to overcome many obstacles in life that straight people will never deal with. I've matured more quickly, become more understanding, and become more open to other people's lifestyles. It takes a lot to come to terms with who you really are - and some people never are forced to deal with that. I feel sorry to straight people in that sense, they never have that exact opportunity to grow up in that emotional way.

iLikeTurtles You missed my point entirely.
@KidsWithGuns199210 жыл бұрын
iLikeTurtles But, then again I didn't exact make the point I was making upon review. I'm not saying it's the most difficult obstacle to overcome, but I'm saying it's an obstacle that forces a person to reflect and be introspective and be strong enough to admit who they are - in any environment. Once again I AM NOT saying this is the worst possible obstacle for an individual to overcome.

GodHatesAmericas MurderingSoldiers God hates the sin not the man or woman. Watching pornography and homosexuality is not different. It's lust and sexual immorality. Repent and confess your sins to God and pray for strength and he will give you his grace and mercy. In the name of Jesus I pray to you my father, have mercy on all of us. Amen.

Joseph Martinez I believe in God. God created our sexuality and had a purpose for it. I understand all that. I need to understand more as to why God did it this way sometimes. I mean I wonder if this is the only option he had. I mean on the one hand you have this situation that if a person is not hurting or affecting anyone else what is the problem? There has to be a deeper reason as to why it's sin and God is against it. I tried to imagine the world in the way people see it today. Like porn and homosexuality as being innocent and nothing wrong with it. What would that mean? There is something connected to the fact that there is something driving people to it. And something driving people away from it. What does it all mean?

I know this is such old news but I've only just found out about this Ellen story. I just wish i had heard about it sooner to be honest! It might have given me confidence. Let me just say i know how it feels to not be believed, and i admire Ellen so much more now after hearing this, and that she was able to become such a strong and empowering female role model through doing what she loves. Inspiring! I'm 22 and neither of my parents or family (except my sister) know about the abuse i suffered from age 8 to age 19. At age 14 i started self harming and the school brought my parents in to a meeting about it. Later on at 15 years old, i came to my parents and said "i think i am depressed". My dad turned around and said "don't be so fucking stupid, you're only 15, how can you be depressed? I have a friend at work who is depressed so i know what it is like. If you were depressed, you wouldn't be able to even get out of your bed each morning". My mum simply shrugged and walked away. I also had a previous experience of someone trying to abduct me at age 13/14 and my parents said that what i was telling them didn't add up and they told me straight to my face that i was lying. From that moment on i knew they would never believe anything that i ever told them. I would love to be able to tell them and make them realise that they could've been much better parents and still can be to my 17 year old sister, but when they wont even believe the simplest thing, why bother? They still don't know to this day what i have been through in my life and i don't know if i will ever tell them for this exact same reason. I wish that parents wouldn't do things like this to their children. Why would a child lie? Especially at such a young age. Simple answer is, they wouldn't. What is wrong with people? +TheEllenShow

I relate to you so much!!! I'm 21, I have depression and also self harm. I have made suicide attempts, my first one being I was 13, I wrote a suicide note and my parents found it, my father just mocked me and my mother threw the idea, like nothing happened. Same thing happened when I was sexually assaulted, I ended up in the hospital for a suicide attempt and was disavowed with major depression. I still self harm, really bad, I recently told my grandma that I'm suicidal and she said that its a sin, she told my mother and my mother said, what could she be depressed for like ....ugh, no one will understand until I'm dead, dying is the only answer.

Because I know so many people who told about their abuse and was told they were lying, I am still afraid to tell them that my brother who is older than me used to touch me in places he shouldn't ..he would try to have sex with me.. I was afraid of staying home alone with him and falling asleep with my door open.. I used to have dreams that he was coming back to finish what he started and I got very scared... One day he wanted to touch me again and I told him no.. He has made my life a living hell till this day... After all that I went to spend time with a relative.. They had a lot of friends who would come into the yard.. One morning I woke up with a man standing over me and his hand was in my underwear.. I couldn't say anything because I didn't know if he would hurt me because he was a heavy drinker and a smoker and looked like a criminal... Fast forward to 16 years old just a few months ago.. I was spending time with my aunt and my cuz.. They went on the road to do business and I was alone with her husband.. He had left the house but came back.. I was in the shower when he came.. When I came out and was In my cousin's room.. He came to the door and started "putting " talk to me" and he came onto me.. My aunt came soon after so nothing happened... I feel so used at 16 years old.. I'll be 17 next month but I'm just saying these few instances to say parents who are watching please listen to your children when they tell you about being abused because 99% of the time they are telling the truth... Believe us so we can have the courage to speak up.. There are even more instances with me... People wonder why I don't keep friends.. It's not because I'm antisocial.. I'm just afraid because it's the people who I trust that do me dirty... It's the first I've ever spoken about these experiences and I wish I could have the courage to talk without them thinking I am lying
