When you brought up Darron Targaryen I remembered that Brandon Stark told Tyrion Lannister that he had his wheelchair built based on the design that Darron Targaryen used for his crippled nephew 120 years ago! Viserys was a good man, but was surrounded by snakes. The fact that the entire council were planning with Otto before Viserys even died showed no matter what Allicent did, they were going to stage a coup anyway. As much as i find incest a weird concept, im starting to understand why they married other family members just from the chaos the Hightowers have caused by marrying into the family.

@@kikima258 I understand Ottos motives to make his house at its apex and establish his blood amongst royalty but look at all the internal issues that came about and he also didn’t properly groom rhaenyra i mean she showed some great leadership qualities in the beginning but having three babies that were not by her husband really made the throne a mockery and viserys had to stand on that lie to protect her I would have disinherited her for that shit if I was him

I love how they’ve held off on the battles in season 1 in favour of building tension. Yeah dragons are cool but it’s the plotting and scheming around them that makes them interesting, and if they can work them in and not over use them, treating them as valuable weapons to the different sides, it’ll make it feel more earned when they pop up

Very similar to thrones in that aspect, no big battles in S1 but still very tension building and captures audience well. I was skeptical of the first few episodes, but the further into this season I got, the more captivated I became.

It goes to show you, Daemon was arrogant but he did really love his brother.. He may have been over zealous in many instances but he supported his brother more than anything. He even gathered a small army before the great council to defend Viserys's claim.. He KNEW what Otto Hightower was, that's why Otto always demonized him & tried to keep him away. His scheming wouldn't be as successful with the prince being there.. If Viserys named Daemon his hand none of this would've happened!!

The way the show put it, she chose to be honorable by not burning them while they were unarmed. Which was a costly option given the destruction that came later. Had it been Daemon, Alicent and Otto would have been history and this whole saga would have been over right there.

I didn't like the explanation given by the showrunnets for rhaenys reluctance to fire. It wasn't because she was a mother. It was because she didn't want to throw the first punch. She didn't fight her right to the throne. She would never throw the first. Some people are wired that way. She killed a bunch of people escaping, she obviously didn't care about life. She cared about targaryen life. Plus, in this world, to be a kinslayer is to be looked down upon.

4:53 wrong Jaehaerys. The Jaehaerys with 6 fingers and toes was the son of Aegon II and Helaena. Which, you know, is the character who's actually represented by that symbol here. I guess his siblings having the same symbol is a hint that they'll also have extra fingers and toes in this adaptation 10:23 Vermithor isnt known to have ever had a rider other than King Jaehaerys. He's just spent a lot of time around people I guess, but no one else had ever rode him at this time. He's also not just a bit younger than Vhagar, he is many many decades younger.

@@benformula7237 Per the writers, Rhaenys is not a thankless person who would just kill a fellow mother so easily. Personally, I think she knew killing Aegon wouldn't change much anyway. She saw the reaction of the crowd and realized Rhaenyra's enemies could have just rallied around Aegon's children instead. Aegon was just a symbol for them to use.

I seen some people complaining about how Rhaenys had armor on all of a sudden last episode. Did you guys not see the giant cloak she had on? She obviously had her armor on underneath that cloak you dummies. You can even see her shoulder pad imprint through the cloak. And a surprising amount of people had a problem with this. Guys she obviously put her armor on when Eryk(not sure which one lol) came to her room then put the cloak he brought her over her armor. It's such a small detail but people are picking episode 9 apart for such silly reasons.

I always love these breakdowns. Thank you. Also.. I can't help but feel bad for Luke and Arrax. It didn't really bother me much after reading about it in the books but booooy did it hit me hard when I saw on screen how tiny Arrax is compared to Vhagar. Poor thing didn't stand a chance especially in that storm.

I think initially Rhaenys was torn between which side she would take because she was pissed at Rhaenyra and her son dying. But when she saw what the Hightowers did usurping Rhaenyra’s rightful claim to the throne, it brought back memories of her own claim being denied and decided to take Rhaenyra’s side. With being so angry about it she had to wait until she could speak to Rhaenyra to see if she wanted to fight for it. She couldn’t just burn everyone down before checking whether Rhaenyra wanted to fight for it…..which of course she thinks she should do. I think we will see everyone around Rhaenyra encouraging her to fight for it.

Also, she may disagree with Corlys and she may be mad at him, but she's not going to flat out betray him (and everything he wants and plans) while he's lying wounded and so sick nobody knows if he'll survive. He's staunchly committed to Rhaenyra and her Verlaryon sons, and doesn't CARE if they were physically sired by Laenor, they're his grandsons.

Silverwing is my favorite dragon along with Vermithor and seeing him excites me. They’re my favorite duo. I hope to get a glimpse of The Cannibal too.. I am not ready to see the first blow though, the first dragon and its rider to die of the dance is the catalyst of this bloody war.

unlike the Velaryons they are quite poor and small , living on a small island populated mostly by crabs. They are mocked and nearly exterminated by Stannis for bending the knee after Blackwater, with no respect given whatsoever.

If Otto and Laryls set Myseria's house on fire, who is to say she is not the one who hired Blood and Cheese to kill the child? She was the one who told Otto the brutal attacks on the children needed to stop. This would be the avenge on the children allowed to be slaughtered and to attempt to kill her. I cannot see Daemon killing a child, but I can see him behead Otto on the bridge this time. Brave man to think he could go to Dragonstone and wipe Daemon and his family out. He may not make it out this time.

ohh the Larys burning the Worm's house point is interesting. For some reason I interpreted that scene as him burning the servants that he had put in cells earlier in the episode because they were part of the web that he wants to control.

The last five episodes have been great! I love the show and they done a great job. But my only two complaints I would say is one I really don’t feel like we have that awesome comic relief like we did in Game of Thrones with Tyrion Lannister or Bron of the Black water or Jamie Lannister those guys always gave us a funny moment in every episode which I loved. And unfortunately we don’t have that in the show. Also I really wasn’t crazy about the first four episodes and all the time jumping I get why they did it but what we saw in the first four episodes I honestly believe we could’ve saw two episodes, by saying that we could’ve had an extra two episodes that happen now when everyone’s at the proper age to give us more time to develop with the kids and more characters. Jus my opinion
