From Canada here and can confirm winter is still fun even with driving (especially with drifting around a quiet neighbourhood corner) and having to scrape my car the only thing that ive always hated about winter is the constant shovelling. as another note i live near the mountains so the hills are steep for tobogganing and I am still shocked i never broke a bone or my face going off icy ramps at the bottom of one of those hills.

East coasters: If you live in a city with subways, the west coast doesn't really have that, but they do have trams. Also, no soft pretzels, Philly or NY cheesesteaks, italian(water) ice, or Tasty Cake Products. They also say sub or sub sandwich instead of Hoagie. This is most of a culture shock for people who live on the east coast but are in the Mid-Atlantic, New England Area, Maryland, and (IG) Florida (but the Miami part).

I’m a California Gurl™️ and WE DEFINETELY HAVE PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS AND I LOVE THEM!! Although I think you said that because there probably isnt any West Coast original restaurants (if you know what I mean) restaurants that serve Philly Cheesesteaks, because the only two cheesesteaks I can remember having are both from sandwich fast food chains (Charleys and Jersey Mikes). Also, I think we have soft pretzels too.

growing up without snow, i found that i found the comfort of the holidays and festive times whenever it was freezing cold. like right now! the nights would come much quicker and since i live on top of a hill, fog is pretty common around this time and i LOVE it. i love seeing the fog outside and the christmas lights of my neighbors. there is no wind, but its really cold, and sometimes the moon shines through the fog and clouds and its beautiful. the air also seems very misty and humid, like a huge cloud passing through me. its very cold when that happens when i open a window and just stand right next to it, but i love it. i wish i could experience snow for the holidays, but, i dont think anything could ever replace what i have right now

Well in Quebec when it is 9 or later november it is snowing or having snow almost until the end of spring till, some years we don't have a long time having snow and some years it is an apocalypse this year is one of our biggest winter or maybe it is the biggest on news they said that a city got 100 CM/centimeter snow, which is really a lot if we only count the snow of the day but if we count all snow of the days, then you have snow taking over your car and the jobs have to give off-duty for everyone (I think I'm having some problem or just sick I don't type bad in english or speak english badly usually, I have no idea what is happening with my english am I slowly becoming able to speak only one language which is quebecois (not french it is racist for us to call us french). And yes I am bilingual (Not sure if it is spell like this I don't usually type it but pronounce/say it

The silence when snow falls is the most ominously beautiful sound ever. It's like, even though you like in a city and there are cars, and dogs, and people, the snow just stops all that noise. When I was in high school and just out graduated, I took long walks to get out of the house for a while. In the winter, I remember walking down the street when it would snow and there'd be no one out. Just me, no cars, no other walkers, just me and whatever I was listening to on my phone. I remember how the silence and that cold stillness was just so comforting, somehow. I remember I'd had some particularly bad times in that part of my life and I'd take a walk to just cry it all out. I remember that, even though it wouldn't freeze, all the tears I cried out got so cold that it was like an icy brand on my cheeks and I'd come back with rosy cheeks and frostbitten streaks under my eyes. Honestly, I miss that. This year, winter was about 50-75 degrees in KS and it just didn't feel like winter. And now that Christmas is over, NOW ITS DECIDED TO GET SNOWY OKAY.

I’ll admit, in Kentucky, it barely snows in the winter. And when it does, it’s always too little or too much. For almost my whole life, I have never experienced having a White Christmas, and me and my brother are always hoping for one, because it seems to make the day feel that much more cozy and relaxing.

Australia Christmas: 1. get ready for Christmas 2.wish you were in the snowy mountains like the LUCKY ONES 3. Look at Christmas lights on Christmas eve 4. For some reason at school you have to watch Christmas carols that had Santa surfing and in mens swimmer pants and sunglasses, and also being sunburnt 5. Christmas food (meat pie and lamingtons) 6. Presents 7. Check the weather chart for snow even though it’s never gonna snow 8. Swim in the kiddy pool and have a barbie 9. Be tired for a whole 3 weeks after Christmas holidays. The end.

One time when I was younger my brother, sister and I were playing in the snow and we decided it would be fun to bury me it (to try and scare someone) and I ended up staying under the snow for an easy 10 to 15 minutes, it was incredibly comfortable( side note I'm very hot natured).

Ah, winter, the season that takes up half the year yet still manages to hail during spring. Also the only I actively prefer going outdoors seeing the glistening snow and the sharp needles of air. I especially love it when it's high winds as well, the times where you can't see what's ahead really puts your memory to the test in the woods. But my favorite thing, simply sitting on my stairs at night just observing nature and relishing the fact I never use coats but instead the protection of shorts, sandals and a tank top

This video it’s 2 years old but Christmas is so dear to my heart. I live in Minnesota and have for my entire life. I get sick of winter easily but , After a long hot summer you start really looking forward to it. My favorite season is autumn. Since it’s cold, not too cold that you feel like you’re gonna get frostbite, but cold enough that you have to wear a sweater. Sitting outside In the chilly weather while checking out the fallen leaves, the bare trees, the Halloween decor. It’s all so fun and honestly, brings me back to my earliest memories of Halloween.

And when we don't, it's an hour's drive to a snowy place. :) (I speak as a Texan who has the opposite experience as you - I LOVE the snow and moved here specifically because we've gotten it in Portland every year since I got here in 2016!)

In Australia, the weather gets really hot in the summer which can make it alot of fun having pool parties with family or picnics or going to the beach. I always loved having a warm Christmas even though it can be up to like 40-50 degrees Celsius (104-122 degrees Fahrenheit). I have always wondered what it would be like to spend Christmas in the cold though. It has never snowed at my place, and it never will, but I still hope to one day, see those white flakes, seemingly falling out of the stars, under the Milky Way at 12 in the night, like I did back when I was 6.

As a Texan, and someone who has lived in Texas his entire life, I can tell you that the one time we have ever had snow wasn't a pleasant one.

lowkey this years christmas just feels off. it doesn’t even feel like december honestly. i’m used to having a snow day already and 3inch snow already on the ground. this year there’s barely any snow, and christmas is legit in a day and it’s gonna be 42 degrees... hUh?

My families not the only one!? We dont even have a tree up this year, just some lights on a curtain. I think it's just with everything that's gone on this year, and the fact things are way warmer, personal stresses etc.

I heard. Your roads are literally melting!! Global Warming is damn scary😬😬😬 Hopefully the heatwave passes soon. Us South Africans also don't exactly have it easy. Bloody warm here, but not road melting hot....
