This Oaxacan mole uses a spice blend to cut down the toasting, seeding and rehydrating time of the dried chiles and the whole spices. The blend is made with fresh chipotle powder and smoked paprika powder with added toasted sesame seeds, cinnamon, cocoa, Mexican oregano, and other spices (listed below)

Recipe for DIY Coloradito spice blend:
3 Tablespoons smoked pepper blend (chipotle and smoked paprika)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 Tablespoon cocoa
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
1 /2 teaspoon Mexican oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon coriander
1 bay leave (crushed)
