It's been two years of creating awesome content on KZfaq, so now, its time to sit back, and take a look at what we accomplished, and where we're going. At this point, we're reaching a turning point, not only with the channel, but the world as a whole, and for me personally, I think its time to head back out into the sunset and see what there is to see.
In the Season Finale of NCommander's Retro Adventures, we're going look at five of our earlier videos, and reflect on how we got here, and where we're going, including revival of the Restless Yankee. Should be fun. Let's wrap this up.

While this definitely made me a bit sad, I understand that we all need breaks. This also made me understand why I like this channel's content so much: it's crafted with passion. And without that passion, your videos would be much... different, in fact I'd say worse. So take all the time you need, and have a nice trip! Hope to see you soon back at teaching us about weird and obscure bits of technology!

A lot of it is also providing closure. I started this channel because that original trip got canned, and then its how I coped with the pandemic. I'm def. going to return to it, but I don't want all the bad of those years lingering

Excellent video. I've recently been diagnosed with MS, and its made me think that I should just get out there, explore and do the things I want to do while I'm still able to. Your video inspires me more to do that too.

I think you made the right call. Your own fulfilment is an important thing, and it’s something that we as followers really cannot look out for - you’ll have to do that yourself. So I fully understand and support that choice. As annoying as having to wait for our technological archaeology and cursed computing videos is, it’s an utterly banal thing compared to your happiness and inner peace. I wish you all the best on your journey. I hope it brings you all you hoped for.

I may work up to trying to do that again. Sadly, the pandemic nipped that in the bud, but maybe in 23-24. We'll see how this trip goes. I'm leaving in the next few days.

I must say I'm not good with goodbyes. And the last part of this video really seems like that. But after getting through those feelings I just want to thank you and let you know I'll be following you on your Restless Yankee channel. And that I will be riding into the sunset with you, in my own way.

A large part of this video was to let me mentally move onto doing something else. This channel, and the community is a large part of my life, and if I'm going to do something new, you guys have a right to know, but I'm not going to pull a bait and switch on you and just drop something completely different without warning. Season 2 is already being plotted out in my head, and I know I'll be ready to do it in a few months when I come back from riding.

While I do not like seeing this, there are times when you have to pick between two evils, and I agree what you are doing is the less of them. All I can say is good luck out there Michael, even though I will always think of you as nCommander. However just remember one thing, nCommander can't be replaced, the only replacement for nCommander is another nCommander, no other channel can replace you.
@NCommander
@NCommander Жыл бұрын
I don't know its lesser of two evils. It wasn't uncommon in the era before the Internet for people to travel to hone their skills, and refine their art. I'm merely following the trails of those who came long before me.

@@NCommander Well I meant, either slugging through making videos and streams for us to enjoy when your heart isn't there. Or go away and come back refreshed and keep the passion for us. While both suck from our perspective as the user, I think it is better one to have a little less nCommander until then :D

It is your duty to manage your own energy and to do things you enjoy and/or find fulfilling. It is not your duty to make videos for the Internet. I enjoy these videos a lot, but I wouldn't want you to stress yourself, burn out, or otherwise force yourself to make them faster or more than is actually sustainable. Take a hiatus if you need one, do something else, come back slower, or stop altogether if you feel like that's necessary. You can do whatever you want with your time and space (practical realities of physical survival permitting); you have no obligation to us.
