Screwdriver: slot size 0 - 3
Cross size 2 - 4
Wrench:
15mm - 19mm
Ratchet:
¼ inch + ½ inch

nut 8mm -19mm
Multi-toothed nut 21mm (for the drive shaft)
pry
side cutter
Nose pliers big and small
flashlight
Adhesive tape next, mark the cable and plug
Rope for the air conditioning compressor
Consumables: spray oil

using a set of baily bridges under the rear wheels makes working under the car a lot eazier first take the wheels of and knock the centercap out of them then remount the wheels and lower them on the baily bridges , this lifts the rear about 15 cm of the ground , get a special socket for the bolts of the driveshafts and loosen them , having the car sit on the wheels alows you to put a lot more force on it by hand without pushing through the brakes take off the rear bumper and the suspension arms on the back with the car resting on its wheels , then lift each rear wheel up again and bend the suspension out as shown in the video to get the axle out put some shop towels in the gearbox seals as it will leak go under the car with a bucket and disconnect the coolant hoses do this while the engine is stil atached the bucket is to catch as mush of the coolant as possible (you will get wet) you dont need to loosen all the plugs on the motor (you can see better with the engine out of the car) , just the big bottom one on the ecu mounted to the airfilter , the complete engine loom comes with the engine when you take it out you allso need to disconnect the plug closest to the shifter side inside the car under the carpet of the drivers seat and feed that wiringloom though the gromnet out the back of the car and theres allso a long thin cable going all the way to the front under the bottom panneling to the yaw sensor that needs to come out and fed over the subframe (he doest show that in the film but it needs to come out as its part of the engine loom ) take out the intake tube between the turbo and the intakefilter on the airfilter side , the ground cable to the frame of the smart (see part 3) the gaslines need to come off like shown put a motorbike lift under the motor then remove the bolts for the rear engine mounts lower the engine carefully (watch the oildipstick) it will drop / rotate forward with the rear mount still atached so you can get to the rear of the engine where the starter and dynamo are located and theres a power cable that goes from the starter motor and goes to the dynamo tha eeds to be taken off there two vacuum lines that are still atached to the car one goes to the trottle body and one comes from the gastank after dropping the engine partway , you need tom get behind the motor to take of the lead cables from the alternator and startermotor when you have aircon you might need to loosen some stuff to prevent them hanging behind the compressor the rest of the cables can be loosened after the engine is out of the car , you have way more room to do so then there is room to remove the bolts for the rear motormount from the top but theres not a lot of it , the engine is now loose and you can lower and remove it from the car it does help to loosen / remove the exhaust before removing the engine as the engine will be sitting on it once its out and it be harder to get to the bolts

gute frage ;-) hinterher hab ich auch gesehen das es nicht unbedingt nötig war. soll keine entschuldigung sein ,nur eine erklärung: es war das erste mal das ich den motor ausgebaut habe.

eine Zange (mit Versand) ca. 12 Euro gibt s im Internet; Vorteil: man kann diese Mini-Klammern wieder verwenden. Hab mich zuvor geplagt, die Klammern wieder so herzurichten, dass sie wieder verwendbar sind. Ideal für die (De-)Montage-Situationen, wo diese Klammern sehr festsitzen und man mit dem Schraubendreher nichts anfangen kann

Gestern wollte ich mit dieser anleitung meine defekte spannrolle lösen, die du so halbe zeigst.Leider ohne erfolg. Ich habe alles abgebaut und die untere schraube gelöst. die obere Schraube konnte ich konnte ich nicht lösen da das fahrwerk komplet im weg ist! ( Federbein ) Also wieder alles zusammen bauen und mit kaputten spannrolle weiter. Schade aber ich habe auch nicht gesehen wie du die obere Schraube vom der Spannrolle löst.

hallo bundbarsch, ja da kommt man schei.. schlecht hin. am besten ist es die motorhalterungen zu lösen und den motor dann etwas nach links (fahrerseite) zu drücken. ich konnte leider keine aufnahme machen da es einfach viel zu eng für werkzeug, hände und kamera war. es ist leider viel aufwand für eine kleine rolle, aber ich kenne keinen anderen weg. tut mir leid das dir das video nicht geholfen hat. lg hannes
