Replace the MAF and IAC which is off the elbow to the right. I've replaced both on my 04 Chevy Impala 3.8L. Big performance difference and corrected the stalling, and hard starts. They wear out after 10+ years and don't always produce code either.

Another item that will also contribute will the ignition control module under the coil packs. After 15 years they go out. Stick with either Delco or Delphi.

Why dos GM use these Torx screws with a pin in the center vs. a simple/std. Phillips screw? Answer: Discourages DIYs = they want you to visit a dealership.

The same thing is happening to my Buick park Ave 2004. I thought it might be my fuel pump. Is it possible it’s just this instead? Please help.

Lemme know man, my 01 stalls after starting, hoping it's not the fuel pump.

Before you remove anything get a fuel pump pressure test kit if it’s above 50 PSI the fuel pump is good.

where did you buy your bits at?
@TheSinkingGarage2 жыл бұрын
You can get a very decent set of "security bits" from Harbor Freight. Well worth the 10 bucks. Has a ton of "oddball" bits and comes with a case.

Mine is the original MAF sensor sine 1997 and I've never had a problem with it. Sorry you had a problem with yours

Life of the MAF depends on how much dust/dirt you car is exposed to and how often you change your air filter. The MAF in my 2003 Buick Century is the original (never even cleaned) = no need as I maintain the car religiously.
