I've been a daily viewer since 12k subs. Your account "ages" as well as wine. What a game! If only Ivan would've found the line you showed here. I found this game so exciting, especially because I am a counter-play style player (and a comitted D4), I absolutey love violent, sharp games. On the edge of my seat the whole time trying to calculate tempos and see if either sides had time to execute plans I had in mind. I paused your video more than 3-4 times on this one. Great review! Appreciate your work and dedication Agadmator :)

At 10:34, when Parham pushed his queen, There was a two-move checkmate for the taking that Ivan missed. White queen to g3 or g4 would have given check, giving blacks king only 3 places to move to, all resulting in checkmate on the next move for white. f8 would result in queen checkmating with protection from them pawn on f7. That same pawn also prevents the rook from being captured, blocking e8. h8 and h7, again, checkmate from the queen with protection from the pawn on f7. I would like to hear your opinion on this, agadmator.

It’s true , once you know there is something its easer to find. You start to check lines that normally one will dismiss as nonsense. You see the rook 8 move , you see a simple ripply , one drops it. But if you know there is something you push it and find the line .

Thanks for this. Nice game to see - easy to understand and I got 2/3 of the puzzles (or however many it was) - just didn't see Rxb7. It looks like my theoretical acquaintance in the Open Spanish is out of date because I haven't seen this line before where White just never seems to play Re1. It feels like Arkhangelsk sorts of stuff, so not that different, I guess - probably transposing sometimes.

This is simply because i know there is this crazy winning move to make and im able to calculate it. Any other time im trying to calculate a ton of other variations that require a few move set ups. I completely agree with you about the engines. It's a great tool for analysis, but I hate watching games with an engine. Not only does it take all the magic out of chess by showing you the solution beforehand, it also detracts from the respect we have for these masters, evidenced by the amount of loud mouth tweets/comments. I remember watching the 2018 Sinquefield Cup stream and just wishing they'd turn off the engine.

instead of f7+ first, Ne8... if played immediately... it also wins... if RxN, then f7+... and wins

I once watched a tournament between engines and there was a third engine showing the strength of each position. So you had three engine lines to choose from. It was a little weird. The only real variation in position scores I saw was when the strengths were about equal. Some engines would flip the advantage depending on who's turn it was while other engines would keep the scores about the same.

Thank you for all the videos. Do you personally run these games through an engine when you analyze them looking for risks on alternate lines, or do you just see them all yourself?

Game was full of blunders, considering the level of both the players, both aren't up to there mark. However they are 100x better than us 😄

Agadmator I find it funny that you think that the Rook move at 8:21 is a such a tough move to find. On the other hand the pawn move at 15:00 is indeed very hard to see. Just an opinion.
