I think we played really well and made it hard for England. I'm Portuguese. England could've scored ofc but it's the first time Portugal will be in a World Cup, so I think we did well.

Portugal are a team to keep ur eyes on, I think they are going to upset a few teams, good on them. Russo, should have been replaced, ur striker has got to be on target, not constantly miss. It's rough, but to win u need to score goals. 🇦🇺🌈👍

I'm Portugese and i dont agree with that assessment, yes it's true that women's football has evolved and improved, but Group E (USA, The Netherlands, Portugal and vietnam) is going to be a "walk in the park" for the USA and The Netherlands, at best Portugal can hope for a win against Vietnam

if Portugal will play like this in the WC, the USA and the Netherlands are guaranteed to advance to the second round. Portugal hardly touches the ball, let's see that England is not forcing their game.

The Netherlands won't advance out of the group. The Dutch have severely dropped down in quality. I predict USA and Portugal will advance.

Portugal plays a deep bunker defense. Keeping possession in their end is key. Don't get frustrated by their numbers. A team like Germany or Spain will eat them alive.

Lauren James? She is not a sprinter. She is a dribbler. She turned the defender a put a cross in that 2 England forwards had a chance at. Watch her through the game. she had 2 or 3 defenders on her most of the time. Portugal were throwing bodies in the way of the ball. See Russo's line clearance.
