No doubt it was a top-class lesson, the two which I enjoyed most were tight-fisted & two-faced.

I've learnt to become a thick-skinned and open minded person. I used to be narrow minded when I was young.

Hi Anna, thank you for your clear and well- explained topics. Can you please make a video on compound nouns as well.. Because they are very confusing in IELTS listening test. I sometimes don't understand whether to write them as single or as two words

Hello, and thanks for all your efforts. I've a question: which one you prefer?: #1: “studying” a list of words, trying to “memorize” and “review” words over and over again. #2: Get a LOT of “comprehensible input.”

The problem with compound adjectives is that different types of compound adjective, including longer compound adjective, have main stress on the first, second or even third part. If you don't know the principle or rule, you might sound slightly ridiculous, using these complicated structures.

I mean, for these compound words, you can easily guess the meaning through one component of it, even you don’t understand all of it,but you definitely are unable to guess the meaning of normal adjectives.unless you know the root of the word (but roots Aren’t words which means you have to memorize more,oh my gosh!

I was wondering how a decent company like this has hired a bad-tempered, narrow-minded, and tight-fisted manger. the firm will lose its profile in the market if they keep him. Mr. Ameen, who deserves that promotion, is a result of being good-tempered, well-spoken, open-minded, thick-skinned, and strong-willed. The company under-management, Mr. Ameen, it would achieve unprecedented success.
