Mad Max 2 came out before Jason got his mask. Mad Max 3 came out before Krang was introduced. Lord Humungous and Master Blaster are the original characters!! Not the other way around.😂

I was too young in the '80s to be taking whatever drugs people who made movies, TV, music videos etc. took. But I swear some of whatever they took must have gotten into the air or the water supply or something. Because even as a kid, watching this stuff in the context of just living in the '80s, it never seemed this weird. Like all this wild stuff would happen and us kids would be like "yup, absolutely; that tracks."

"You run bartertown" was used as a cheat code for the game Starcraft. Also, Starcraft was released 14 years after this movie was made. Starcraft was released 26 years ago. Yeah we getting old.

"Is this a TV?" I love 'The Tell'. It's part conlang (constructed language) storytime, part wordbuilding, and completely perfect for Mad Max as the movies themselves are very much about 'Max as myth' and you know those kids are gonna grow up to have some wild 'tells' about Max.

I was born in 1985. This movie was one of the movies we had on VHS when I was a kid. It was recorded to VHS while it was playing on tv so it was the TV-censored edit with the commercials still included (lol). I watched that least 100 times in the early-mid 90s (which, now that I think about it, probably explains some about me as an adult). This is easily the most nostalgic reaction of your reactions for me. Every line of dialog just swept over me like a familiar breeze. Loved every minute!

Your reaction in this film was absolutely fantastic. But, at minute 46:24, I only see this scene because of Tina Turner that I imagined myself saying a great farewell for creating an iconic character. Tina Turner: Goodbye, soldier. Me: Goodbye, Queen Turner. As you ride through the Goldeneye into the sunset, we will meet again beyond the Thunderdome.

Tina Turner's outfit might not look like much, but it was made of metal and weighed around 65 pounds, plus or minus. It is basically a suit of chainmail. So props to her for walking around as well as she did in that thing. (Note: I remember the weight from a behind the scenes show ages ago, but when I checked to refresh my memory, some sources are claiming it was 120 pounds. Those folks are delusional.)

I've seen several reactions where the reactors hate him, but I love how over the top he is. Angry Anderson, a musician himself, is a trip and a half in real life. Airplane Enthusiast Fact: Jedidiah's (Bruce Spence) airplane is a Transavia PL-12 Airtruk, a single-engine agricultural biplane designed by Transavia in Australia. First flown in 1965, around one hundred twenty had been built by the time this movie was made. Music Enthusiast Fact: When Max (Mel Gibson) first meets Aunty (Tina Turner), a saxophone is heard playing, the camera then reveals that the music is not the soundtrack, but is diegetic, as one of Aunty's men is playing it. This is a nod to Mad Max (1979), where Max's wife, playing the saxophone, is revealed in the same way. Hockey Enthusiast Fact: Back in the day, the Tampa Bay Lightning arena was called The ThunderDome. Before each game, they would play the Thunderdome Announcer (Edwin Hodgeman) scene on the jumbotron and the whole arena would get pumped with "Two men enter! One man leaves!" chanting. It was super fun. They sadly don't do that anymore.

I was working at a movie theater in high school when this movie came out. We had to take turns changing the marquee, which was about 25 feet off the ground. There was a ledge about 18 inches wide to walk on. It was my turn on the marquee for this movie. MAD MAX BEYOND THUNDERDOME is not the movie you want to spell out when you’re afraid of heights.

Not gonna lie, I get emotional when Max said "I need all the water I can carry." There was no doubt in his mind he was going to go look for them despite all his efforts to keep Savannah from going. Loved it. Great reaction J. Blank did a good job editing in this one.

Tina Turner was the total package. Beautiful, talented, and classy. RIP. Also, I really liked the design of the child tribe, with their limited understanding of the world and what happened in times past. I also really enjoyed the ending, because I often think this is where civilization is headed. There will be a few lucky survivors trying to make sense of what happened.

Some people diss this movie because it isn't as dark and violent as the first two installments. I think it's the best of the four - SO creative and packed with ideas (including a whole dialect for the Crack in the Earth children -- !!), action, non CGI amazing stunts (almost as good as Fury Road), and one of the most moving endings in cinema. George Miller's a genius storyteller and director, IMO.

The song in the closing credits, "We Don't Need Another Hero", was a big hit for Tina. Went to #2 on the Billboard chart. But it's the opening song, "One of the Living", that I've always loved. Ominous, hard lyrics, perfect for a post-apocalyptic world. And it sounded great in the theater as the movie started. Everyone who likes the movie should check out the full song. The "Rocko sound" is a Didgeridoo. It's a wooden instrument from Australia, that's why you hear it in crocodile Dundee and in Rocko's modern life (Rocko was a wallaby, from Australia) They are hard as heck to play

It's better than some people (in the comments) give it credit for. And all the world building and lore of Max as a sort of tall-tale type character is great. He stumbles into people's lives, reluctantly helps them and moves on.

Thought Tina not having him killed at the end was fitting. She knew he was left in the wastes with nothing and nobody. No food, water, vehicle and the only “town” within probably 500 miles in any direction was Barter town…she knew he’s screwed.

You'd never see a camel in the frozen tundra but they sure would survive tho. People forget it gets freezing at night during the deserts. Camels can survive a wide range of temperatures, from minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 29 degrees Celsius) to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (49 degrees Celsius)!

I am going to state something that for the large part of the Mad Max fans feel. That is most of us find this movie frustrating for largely for one thing, and that is it should have been two movies, and both movie should have been shot at the same time. In that the first half would just deal with Batertown. The second movie would deal with the Children That Are Lost. In that both movies will still cover the same plot, but by splitting in to two would allow each of the two to have more room to breath. In that the frustration for this movie is born out of the love for the Mad Max universe and total appreciation for all the work that been put in to it.
