Fun fact though - a lot of antique collectors of sabers keep dull versions - they only got a sharp edge put on or a "service sharpening" before use. A British military saber collector had a bunch of these, and had his house broken in to in England. It was a meth-addled lunatic with a wooden club who immediately tried to bash his brains in. He grabbed an antique 1796 light cavalry saber which was completely blunted from never have been service sharpening. He was an expert military saber fencer, and used it to easily block and defend all the maniac's club swings - making him pause. The guy fled when the dude started throwing feints at him.....but then broke BACK in and tried again to kill / rob him. Same thing happened again and he fled. THE THIRD TIME, he broke back in, the dude finally delivered a swing to the side of his head - busting his head open and making him sit down and wait for law enforcement......they showed up and immediately arrested the sword salesman and seized all his swords. Because they were "curved' under British law - they asserted they fell under the definition of "samurai swords" (i.e. katanas) and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon. It took him months to beat the charges, and many months later he still couldn't collect his property. A great example of British weapon laws at work. This is often quoted by a lot of youtube HISTORIANS and sword collectors, not 2nd amendment guys and such.
