Welcome back to part three of my special series of interviews with my kids. So far, you’ve heard from my firstborn, Hannah, and my eldest son, Hunter, and today we’re jumping to my youngest, Anthony.
Anthony was born via C-section on November 22 in Tucson, Arizona. Named after his great-great-grandfather, Antonio, his name is in many middle names and first names throughout my family. As my youngest, I often joke about him being my favorite, but one of the things I am most proud of him for is his ability to turn difficult situations into opportunities for growth and leadership. Never one to mindlessly follow the pack, I am confident he will be super successful, and I'm excited to see what he does.
In this conversation, Anthony and I talk about his childhood, the experience of moving to a new city and feeling behind in school, how sports helped him to overcome his concerns about his height, struggles, and triumphs in football and theater, Anthony's college experiences at Blinn, his future career aspirations, and more. Thanks for your support, and enjoy the episode!
Episode Highlights:
- The perks of being the youngest in a family of four kids
- Anthony’s experience of feeling behind starting at a new school in third grade after moving to Austin
- How sports helped Anthony overcome his doubts about being smaller
- The transformative experience Anthony had over his years on his high school football team
- Embracing a love of theater and music
- The challenges of balancing multiple activities and interests at the same time
- Anthony’s initial disappointment and ultimate decision to attend the Texas A&M-Blinn TEAM Program
- The experience of pledging a fraternity and finding your place in college
- Anthony’s career plans and aspirations

Thank you Dr Tassone for interviewing your son. This was great timing for him. Because he could still remember what happened in high school and reflect on that. He will enjoy looking back on this one day when those memories start to fade. I look forward to your interviews with the other children. Good luck with your education Anthony.! My 21 year old son is in college for computer science but he doesn't really know what actual job he will get. I'm sure you will excell in what ever you do. 💜

This is so interesting to me, for so many reasons. I'm the youngest of 4, and I was pretty invisible lol. My oldest child is a male and he's only 5'6" (I'm 4'10", and his Dad is 5'7" on a good day) so my son was in 7th or 8th grade when he started playing Ice hockey. He could skate! but Freshman year I bought him a guitar(I sing, come from a musical family) and he turned out to be a phenomenal guitar player! Everyone has their strengths. I was left to my own devices as a teen and as an adult, and I'm much more responsible and capable than my older siblings. They say personality is genetic but temperament is individualistic. I tend to agree. My oldest son is very introverted until he's on stage playing his guitar, at 34. Yeah, he has an MBA and a "Real" job, but still plays in a band and it's his thing and I love that for him! Your children are great, Doctor Tassone. Walk proudly!
