If a woman is spending literally years suffering while searching for a doctor who will prescribe bio-identical estradiol, can she use bi-est over the counter bio-identical estradiol and estriol cream in the meantime? I currently use an OTC cream which has 4000mcg micronized estriol USP and 1000mcg micronized estradiol USP along with micronized bio-identical 20 mg micronized progesterone USP. Oddly, I was able to get a doctor to prescribe me bio-identical testosterone 2mg cream. If using the bi-est harms me then I will stop but my assumption has been it’s better than nothing until I can find a doctor who will give me only estradiol. Thank you for making these videos and helping so many of us who are struggling and suffering!

Don't use things like that over the counter. Estriol is worthless its way too weak to give you what you need.

I would like to find a doctor who is willing to prescribe me 2mg bioidentical testosterone cream! My doctor said it’s a bit tricky because too much can cause more problems. Yet, my doctor has no problem prescribing 1mg estradiol & 100 mg progesterone bio identical. The progesterone helps me with sleep as well.

Thank you again Dr T for the complete breakdown of bio identical versus synthetic hormones. Love that you mentioned Suzanne Summers, who was the pioneer in creating more awareness pertaining to bioidentical hormone replacement. She was the one that opened my eyes in switching from Premarin to estradiol 😊

Thank you for educating women about hormone replacement therapy. Your podcast/KZfaq provides valuable, science backed information. When I was perimenopausal, I was very fortunate to have had an excellent GYN , Dr Joann Pinkerton, who started me on bioidentical HRT. I am still on bioidentical HRT 20 years later, enjoying a healthy, full life as I travel the world. I do not think I would be where I am today if I had not started bioidentical HRT when I did. I read the nurses' studies on the risk of HRT and breast cancer, which I thought was a crappy study because the hormone used in the study was Premarin....there are others reasons that I thought the study was horrible but will not get into that discussion.

Thanks for calling out the 2002 whi and supporting women to take hormones for protection against disease, including aging. Such a hot topic. I like your videos and your calm, gentle voice, I'm 61 and just started messing with hrt when I was 60. My experience has been good with .5 estradiol patch. But bad psychological side effects with the oral micronized progesterone, tried both troche s and peanut oil caps. So, I've stopped the progesterone altogether and have been trying to find evidence that we don't really need the progesterone at this age (or whenever)...but instead have been finding lots of reports saying that endometrial opposition is definitely needed in hrt, but that the synthetic is actually more protective than the bioidentical. I so want that to not be true! But I am one of those who needs a study or cohort study to see for myself. I am hoping for more studies comparing the two. I know you may not have time to answer this, but 2 questions: 1. Can you point to a study that shows bioidentical is as effective as synthetic in opposing estradiol for preventing endometrial cancer? If not, why is it recommended? 2. Do I really need it (?!) and if so, what dosages/frequency do you recommend for bioidentical progesterone with .5 estradiol, or can you point to a table if recommended dosages? I guess that might be 3. But Thank you again for advocating for women's health!

Have you considered making an appointment with him? He’s licensed in 26 states. He has a website that you can get his phone number from and ask his office if he’s licensed in your state. I did. I’m so glad that I can do a virtual appointment with him. I’m so looking forward to HRT, & I’m older than you.

I am 66. On 1 mg oral estrace/estradiol as well as 200 mg progesterone (prometrium) oral prescribed by my ob/gyn. I am mostly Concerned about bone health because of osteoporosis/osteopenia. Also heart issues because of family genetics. All my labs are ok. I thought I was ok taking oral hormones but maybe not? Any advice? Limited finances so I never pursued compounded/bio identical hormone replacement.

I just went to a functional doctor last week and got prescribed Bi-est last week... I use Awakening Woman OTC with it and now I see your video regarding that! My bottle does say Progesterone in the ingredients. It's all so confusing. My mom had breast cancer and I believed the WHI report. 55 and 5 yrs out from menopause. I was desperate for sleep, getting rid of got flashes and brain fog! Ugh!

If you can't patent it, then why are bio identical hormones hundreds and hundreds of dollars a month? I pay less than $8 a month for my hrt. This makes 0 percent sense.

Too high-yes- my doc listened, ordered labs, and adjusted the dosages. It’s not complicated for me, but then, as a woman I’ve been used to a calendar and cycles since puberty. 😉Be nice doc, we are ladies, not the enemy. 🙂 Why so angry? 🤔

Psychology 101: you have no idea what motivates a person and cannot know unless they tell you. Assigning motive is a no- no. At least, that’s what my profs taught. 😉 Total hysterectomy, Wiley has worked for 15 years. Gaslighting is SO uncalled for, doc. Perhaps we should examine why you vehemently want to both discredit Wiley and devalue a female’s experience in her own body?
