Epica and Nightwish are the faces of symphonic metal in my head and they always will be

It's interesting how Epica and Within Temptation are Dutch bands, and Nightwish is a Finnish band. Basically the whole symphonic metal genre is in Northern Europe. Must be the air or something.

Metal is such a wide genre. You have aggressive thrash, slow ballads, symphonic metal. One of the widest genres of music out there for sure.

Almost 12 years later and this is still one of the best music videos Ive ever seen. In my book, it would've won a grammy back when it was released.

Not only is Simone Simons incredibly talented and gifted but also she's strikingly beautiful & charismatic. A true metal goddess. Just like Tarja, Ailyn, Lori Lewis, Sharon etc, just to cite a few. We're beyond lucky to being able to listen to and appreciate each and every one of them🤘

I'm not even sure what it is about this, something about the synergy between the video, lyrics and the song itself is just beautiful. this song can be important for ocd phobic people who now have a hard time when there really is an invisible danger of viral roulette going on. / Years ago Epicas singer Simone survived a dangerous bacterial infection. Then she developped a phobia for contamination. This song is about breaking free from that mental health issue.

symphonic metal and this kind of music makes me always happy

I personally feel like there is a big difference between Epica and other bands like Delain. I believe Simone Simons makes the big difference along with the rest of the band and the choir and each song is unique. With the aggressive atmosphere, balance and variety that characterizes their music, the feeling you get after listening to one of their songs is indescribable.

Music like this should be fucking mainstream. Not the pop shit we get shoved down our throats today. It's almost hurtful how many people will remain ignorant of amazing music like Epica and all the other great bands out there simply out of lack of exposure (compared to all the other shit). It's just sad.

Inspiring as it's beautiful, with a deep meaning. This one will always have a special place in my heart.

Every band has one music video by which is immediately recognized. If I must choose the best song which describes Epica is this one. Everything about this video is EPIC literally, music, choreography etc. just no words! This is why band is called EPICA. Also its my first song from this band and I fell in love in their songs. 10/10 rating from me!

I have a nephew that I have been introducing to new bands and music so I decided to show him this video and he liked it. He liked Simone's voice but his favorite part was the growling vocals with the wolves fighting.
