There are three types of people in this world: the wolf, the sheep, and the sheepdog. The wolf is violent, the sheep is passive, and the sheepdog is there to protect one from the other.
Army Green Beret and UFC ranked middleweight fighter, Tim Kennedy, joins us to talk about how to overcome fear, how to get up and learn from losses, how to recognize strengths and weaknesses, and how to become the sheepdog.

Dave Grossman wrote in "On Combat" that while the sheepdog loves the sheep, the sheep fear the sheepdog. This is because the sheepdog looks dangerous, like the wolf, and is a constant reminder to the sheep of the dangers that exist in the world, which violates that bubble of safety within which the sheep spend most of their lives. You see this behavior exhibited when people advocate against armed security at their kids' school, because schools are supposed to be "safe."

Hi Gents. There are 5 people groups. 1. Sheep 2. Sheepdog 3. Wolf 4. Goats - these are losers who hang with both the sheep and the wolf. 5. Shepherds - spiritual or moral leaders who carry the wisdom and the authority above all. They can kill a wolf and issue punishment to the sheep and sheepdog. I’m working on this article to help explain this. Great work. Love this talk.

How do shepherds kill a wolf and issue punishment to the sheep and sheepdog?
@SeanandBlanca
@SeanandBlanca 6 жыл бұрын
TactiCali Industries By nature, the sheepdog has some bloodlust in him. If he is not careful he can lose control (maybe because of substance abuse or mental illness or anger problems) and bite/attack a sheep. Even cops lose control and overreact sometimes although it’s rare. The shepherd is there to watch for signals and issue punishment if needed. The shepherd is a moral figure. Like when I took martial arts, my instructor warned us that if we got too aggressive in our training (especially against a women or smaller partner) that he would “put us down real quick.” I think sheepdogs need a good shepherd in their life in case they need accountability or correction. As we know, sheep can be assholes sometimes I wish I could slap them! Lol. Can’t do that. Goats and wolves are fair game and it the job of both the shepherd AND the sheepdogs to fight the wolf and scare the goats away. There are so few shepherds and that’s why the need the sheepdogs- they are a force multiplier. Same heart, same mission.

I've had moments in similar situations where I've jumped in front of danger, scared but with this unexplainable courage and focus and the other with paralysing fear. Me, my brothers, cousins and a bunch of friends went to the beach, one of the guys in our group which I'll admit was acting like an idiot. A bunch of other guys confronted our guy and punked him, we weren't looking for trouble but the guys weren't satisfied with their victory so they decided to challenge one of my cousins. One guy was putting his hand to his belt suggesting he had a gun, my cousin put his hands up saying he didn't want any problems but the guy clocked my cousin I immediately rush the guy acting like he's got a gun, (turns out he didn't) to make a long story short a massive brawl erupts, we're out numbered 2 to 1 but we beat them...bad. A similar story this time a fair one on one brawl happens and I'm scared stiff. I eventually react and defend but not before our group almost got the shit kicked out of us. I beat myself up over this one alot and this was over 15 years ago.

Very true--but here is also the path of the Sheepdog. Have you ever been in the position where you are doing the right thing and everyone else isn't? That's being a Sheepdog. What is hard for the Sheepdog is that the path it takes is usually where one walks alone. This was this week's topic for my own subscribers on the almighty YT but it fits here too. The Sheepdog will suffer. Here is how you alleviate that lonesome walk of doing right. You look at the other dogs in the kennel. Eliminate the ones that don't know what they are talking about. That's 50% gone. Then the ones who are afraid to hunt. Another 25% gone. Then the ones who hunt but only for themselves--another 20% gone. The 5% left are the Sheepdogs. They aren't allowed near the kennel because the other dogs start snarling and barking. Why? Because the Sheepdog makes 50% look unintelligent, 25% look cowardly and 20% selfish. So the Sheepdog is condemned to walk the ridgeline alone. But the key to inner peace which took me 15 years to realize in the corrupt healthcare field I practice in is this: realize you can't make a regular dog into a Sheepdog. You don't get angry, you treat them with indifference. And you will see that other Sheepdogs will periodically pass you on other ridgelines. And others will gravitate toward you as well--because people would rather you hate them then not acknowledge them at all. And some will possibly get a little better. Hope this helps someone out there---Charles

So in a church sermon a few weeks ago the Lead Pastor said that as men were supposed to walk up front. Like literally in front of our families. Leading the way and such. I've always walked in the rear for several reasons one being that I can keep track of my kids. Another being that ambushes happen from the rear or sides. I just don't like that I can't see my family behind me. That's your thoughts on this?

If you go and do all these good things, and your name is not written in the Lambs book of life- If you are not born again, it will be the lake of fire for eternity- Utter torment for all eternity without rest from the lake of fire. Jesus is King. God's people, the Christains, must repent of the all murders of innocent people this nation commited- Murder like abortion. Killing someone isn't always murder. But if you going to smoke someone, it must be justified. So, the question is how do you over come the judgements of God. When the Lord's hand comes to correct you? It's through repentance. Confession of sin. And then to follow His Word -To obey his Word. He says if you love Me, you will obey Me.

Jesus is a sheep. He is the Lamb of God, who hung on the cross for the sin of the world. Jesus is also a Lion. The Lion of Juda. In His last trip here, He was a sheep. When He comes back, He will be the Lion. And He'll be tearing it up. So, we as Christains, I believe,, must learn to flash back and forth from a sheep to a lion in an instant. This being guided by the Holy Spirit! That's what I believe.

I've spent my life thinking about how best to defend and protect my friends and family. Earliest stories that my family has of me as a young child is fighting older kids who picked on my older brother. I've always pursued the martial arts, shooting, archery. Ways to hone violence so it can be used effectively if needed. The only thing I haven't done is go out and join the military. I have the deepest respect for our servicemembers: military, police, first responders, etc. I went the college route, and work in intelligence now. There are days where I feel I have made the wrong choice and not pursued what I was meant to do, so I find ways to do it in my own way. Soon I will finish gearing up to enlist, just after I get my run times to where I want them to be. Not everyone has the mindset to be a combatant of any type, even looking at my own immediate family, and even with a family service history back through Desert Storm, Vietnam, Korea, WWII and WWI.

Problem with your comment is it takes peace for granted. Peace and easy living doesn’t exist in the world without these “sheepdog” type people to create and maintain it.....it’s your choice to not be a sheepdog, most people are sheep. For some people that’s no problem, clean conscience all day. For others they feel a sense of duty and can’t live knowing that their peace and all the freedom in their life is a luxury provided by better men than them. It’s on their conscience eating away at them, and so they feel an duty to do their part in some way. It’s who you are, you can’t live with clean conscience any other way. Sheep don’t get it. Maybe it’s DNA or how ur raised. Idk

Sheepdogs are civilians who act heroically when the occasion arises. A true sheepdog lives among the sheep and is not feared or resented by the sheep. Government agents, including law enforcement, are wolves who prey upon the sheep as surely as the common thief. They are two packs of wolves fighting over the same territory. Just because the government wolf operates under the color of law and occasionally pretends to be a sheepdog doesn't make it any less a wolf.
