I think this may have been the best explanation of headmaster I’ve ever seen. I might have more compliments later but I’ve only gotten that far.

Super great information. All you young guys should eat this up. I never had a chance to have so much info shared with me at one time.

Yes, but this is one of those not-for-beginners monologs where if you can understand what he's saying, you don't need to hear it. Teaching is a talent all its own and it's not here in this video, knowledgeable as the presenter is. I see this all over in HVAC. For presenters with teaching talent, see Greyfurnaceman or Ty Branaman.

This is great to have because it's online - you can STOP, rewind, take the time to study the diagrams, then go back and replay the dialog to match the dialog with the diagram.

For the beginners watching this, don't expect yourself to be able to "pass the test" for the this video. It is for people who already know the reefer business. Nevertheless, after the 2nd or 3rd play, try challenging yourself by just listening to the audio and see if you can follow flow and jump-arounds, sentence by sentence, and clause by clause.

Thanks heaps for this info mate, I'm watching this from Australia and everything here is similar too what you've demonstrated. This may be a silly question but.. When you were talking about sizing the rack appropriately and saying the biggest compressor doesn't get alot of run time due to it being almost like a back up, and stating that oversizing back in the day was problem. Would it be beneficial NOW to oversize a rack today and just have some VSD's (Variable Speed Drives) on the motors to reduce performance/amps/compressor speed etc? Pros and cons? Thanks again for the info

Thanks for the video, for the walking freezer with very low temp, what would be right superheat

Thanks, does it matter what type of condenser (air-cooled or water-cooled) we have to decide about our subcool and also would it make a difference that we have very low or medium temp walking freezer to decide about our superheat

These guys are "doers" first and "teachers" second... That's ok, but as a learning experience, it could be better. I'll have to watch this several times to "get it" - can't keep up with the complicated flow-diagrams, then the overly folksy "your xyz valve" and "your xyz meter". But here on KZfaq we can stop/rewind/repeat. "It's a start."
