Thanks Eric use this for every consultation I have with New clients and all Clients one arm cable row is a great assessment and a good movement also leads to better rowing in all horizontal movements

Great Video Eric. Keep up the great work!!! I also enjoy Dr. Evan Osar's take on Scapula placement during the pushup and rowing. Again, really enjoyed your video.

Thoughts on "wide grip" rows for upper back involvement? (> 60 degrees, e.g.) People say wide push ups are bad for shoulders because of impingement risks, but wide grip rows are the exact same position in reverse.

+Eric Cressey Really appreciate your videos, very insightful information. not sure if i did the right format to add you to this comment thread. 2 questions: why only go to parallel w torso? if you have the gh and scap motion, can you go further? also what height do you set up the cable for a row, elbow or shoulder?

Eric, how do you feel about rows without elbow flexion at all? Some people I've worked with who need some re-education seemed to gain a better "understanding" or "feel" for their rhomboids by keeping their elbows in extension during the retractions. This minimizes the first couple of compensations you mentioned. I progressed them to the full row once I felt they had a better grasp of the motion.

whether you do lumbar extension or neutral spine, you "hang the weight" to your spine either way. also, you have to limit eccentric phase of the row to protect your posterior capsule (which eric crassey knows nothing about)
