Enjoyed this mini series Chris. Looks like a good time. The reason the water spurts out is because it’s a sealed coolant system, so as the water heats up the pressure increases. We can presume the water in the system will be way above 100 degrees as the pressure will be higher in the sealed system and the pots not boiling over with cap closed…. When you release the coolant cap, your releasing the super hot water to atmospheric pressure, which turns the boiling water into steam, instantly, expanding every water drop 1600 times into steam drops, this is why the water continually discharges in a frantic rage as the original volume of water you put in there is returning to atmospheric pressure and escaping in the path of least resistance as it expands into steam and forces its way out. Meaning you lose a shit ton of water really fast, where as if you wait for it to cool below 95 degrees before opening you’ll only be dealing with the increased volume due to heat expansion. Not flashing to steam!
