BIG Bob Knight fan here and I TOTALLY agree with Scott Ferrall of CBS Sports, he said. "How can you back stab a guy that made your career?" "EVERYTHING he has in his career he owes to Coach Knight" and now wants to badmouth him..."If life under Coach Knight was so bad, why did he stay there the whole sixteen years?" NOBODY stays at a place they don't like for sixteen years! He is just bitter that was not named the coach at Indiana after Coach Knight was terminated, something that Coach Knight would have had no control over.

Who cares if you're a Knight fan. He is an ahole! Nepotism- his son was terrible. His true colors are world known. By the way, the Hoosiers suck. That dead program can't get Mr Indiana Basketball to stay in the state. Butler, Valparaiso, Ball State maybe could even beat your ass. IU is 4th or 5th best now in the state, Bobby had something to do with that as well. His tramp stamp is still hang8ng over the program. Have fun barely creeping into the tournament sometime to come.

Knight is a coward masquerading as an angry bastion of traditional values. He just happened to grab some students by the neck to get their attention. He figured that at 6'5" and a former college basketball player, he was athlete enough to beat up an ordinary person. he would not have done it to a formidable-looking strength athlete, and if the little guy turned out to be a hard-hitting boxer, or wrestler, he was relying on his basketball team members to bail him out. I would happily do a benefit pay-per-view with that piece of refuse.

I was good friends with a couple of assistants to Coach Knight during his last few seasons at Indiana. One of them joined the staff the year after Dakich left. He found the transition to Indiana basketball, at times, to be a little shocking. We had some interesting conversations, and one time when we were hanging out, he told me that several people in the Indiana program told him that during Dakich's last season, that Knight treated him pretty much like dirt. He said that apparently Knight would frequently, in practice when a player made a mistake, stop practice and start screaming at Dakich: "Goddamit, Dakich! You recruited that stupid son-of-a-bitch. Get down and give me pushups!" And Dakich would have to hit the floor, in front of the team and everyone, and do pushups. I've sat in on about 30 of Coach Knight's practices, and at his best, he is fantastic--a great coach who praises far more than he criticizes, and who is an excellent and creative teacher. But there were times, way too many times, when he was simply an egregious, spoiled cunt, for no justifiable reason whatsoever.

Who also loved fishing Bobby introduced me toTed Willams . It is totally unlikely that Dakitch would not have been a success through basketball without Knight. he was a big scorer in high school, whose top game netted 49 points. He could have gotten scholarships from any number of schools, and as a career .517 field goal shooter, would have been allowed to take far more shots than Knight allowed him. He also has brains, and a likable personality, unlike Knight. He would have been totally okay without that piece of excrement.

Never qualified for the Dance in ten years as a head coach, had a losing record four of the final five seasons and the two games he was interim coach for Indiana they were one and done to a lower seed in the big ten and NCAA tourneys. So seems by the metric that people measure doing well as a coach he fell decently short of.

Bobby Knight had numerous faults that are well documented but the countless stories of praise players to this day have for him says that he wasn’t the devil guys like this may portray him to have been. From all indications despite his many shortcomings he always stood by his players and helped them how he could when he could. Simply even looking at the number of guys he coached that got degrees is such an opposite of what you become accustomed to seeing from a program that competes at the top level especially in todays era of the one and done. But it’s always skinny when you see dudes like this who speak badly on the person once they’re at a stage of life where that person no longer benefits them. He was content to work for somebody he believes was so terrible for 12 years after playing for him because of what he says was a promise to get the Indiana job. Doesn’t say a lot about ones own personal character that they’ll stick around and co-sign behavior they speak against later when they believe they can benefit and only once they decide they won’t lose anything they then begin to have issues. Doesn’t say a lot for ones self-respect to live a life that way but to each their own.

Bobby Knight Versus Peter Nagy I had a personal run-in with Knight myself. m 1975 I was a graduate student in telecommunications, looking for a press pass to the women's basketball game that night. Making a wrong turn led me to a cubby hole, where Knight stood right over 7 foot Kent Benson who was sitting on a stool like a supplicant from a Greek tragedy. Knight was beating him deeper into the stool with every word of what was an almost inaudible scream. At first I thought I should get out of there, but the imp in me decided to test his well-known temper. I therefore asked him where in the building I could obtain a press pass. He muttered something in just about the same tone he had been using against Benson. The only word I could understand was "upstairs." The imp still ruled, so it pulled me back after just a single step away from the surrealistic scene. "Oh yeah," I shouted, "where upstairs." That flipped Knight's switches all the way on. He rushed over to me, his fists flailing awkwardly, and roared, "JUST GO UPSTAIRS." Having pushed him far enough, I thanked him, and left. Fortunately, he did not grab me by the throat to "get my attention."

you did that to yourself. you never said what building you were in? and what area of the building? I know all the areas that the basketball team used like the back of my hand, so I'm just curious. thanks for the story, I have no doubt it's true.
@Nagy50Magyar
@Nagy50Magyar 4 жыл бұрын
@@harpoon_bakery162 What you allegedly know like the back of your hand is incorrect. I walked into a dank storage closet Knight was using as his torture chamber. It was about 12 feet long and perhaps seven feet wide with various kinds of folded tables and chairs in its far end. You apparently do not know the back of your hand, or much else. You really have some serious cognitive deficiencies if you think that what I did was enough to precipitate a bluff charge, with a clear assault to follow if I had said anything else. Knight grabbed more than one person for calling him "Knight." He had to have the title as a sign of respect -or fealty- to his Exalted and Twisted Highness." An average person with a fuse as short as his would have spent half his life in prison for assault. He also would have ended up having his head handed to him a few times. So would you. Nevertheless, please do not let anyone, or anything keep you from being the sputtering idiot you are.

@@harpoon_bakery162 No, I did not speak rashly. You said I did it to myself. The issue is not your questioning my account; it is judging me as the guilty party. I brought nothing on myself, and justified or not, I give the likes of one Bobby Knight little chance in a physical assault on me. You have serious cognitive problems. I did not mention the building in which this transpired only to streamline an already long post. It was the Athletic and Convocation Center. I am also having a great day, not a bad one.
