I think BOTH formulas probably do best with a little serum mixed in!! It’s my favorite way to apply full coverage.

I prefer double west mixed with a drop of serum to keep it from looking dry. But I do love them both!!! I

I used to love Chanel and used for years until I tried to get rid of a dark spot and gave myself melasma all over my face and now it doesn’t provide the coverage I need anymore!! I haven’t tried one of there fuller coverages, I just used their light foundations.

@@KaraLey98 I find using a sponge or my fingers to apply is best, brush is worst for making it look dry. I have definitely found that the moisturizer used underneath makes a difference too. I use Clinique Dramatically Different, it is kind of dewy.

@@rebeccawebb2298 Thank you so much. A few months back I found a little article on how to make ELDW work well, even if one has dry skin. Thought I saved it, but can't find it now, so I'm grateful for good tips like this since I'm probably going to try the ELDW at the end of this week. Yippee😊 Edited to add: ELauder launched its new foundation yesterday, & it's supposed to be "Sheer", but the DWLight says sheer, and it's full coverage on me. Hope the new one is a little more sheer , and hope DWLight is not discontinued bc a new foundation is now on market. It's at Dillards, and Ulta, so far.

I have not tried double wear light but it is on my list of “make up to try“. I normally wear cream blush day to day and do prefer it! And I do like Lancome with just a single layer, though it shows more of my melasma

I like Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder for a light/medium coverage, a little more than tinted moisturizer or BB cream, but not heavy. For drugstore, I still like L’Oréal Tru Match foundations! They are closer to medium coverage, but so skin like. For dewier finish, if you have Sephora nearby, the LYS foundation serum is light/medium coverage with a dewier finish.

Currently on vacation, I packed my Laura Geller Powder Foundation and the Lancôme 5 in 1 foundation stick, I don’t even put it over my whole face, just the front and center and it looks and feels great, like you don’t have any makeup on but you skin looks even!

I find Lancôme can oxidize a little on me too but it still matches pretty good. But Doublewear is my fav!!

Thanks Gail, yes Lancôme was my daily foundation in the spring, but my melasma wasn’t as bad due to my being in sun in May. I’m sad that I have to use more coverage now but I guess there are worse things than discoloration! Thanks for watching 💕💕💕

I love light foundations but dw if you apply a bit on very nicely moisturised skin and j use the fingers to warm it ip an apply lightly it is a dream

The Dior is more of a radiant finish, the ELDW is matte and a little fuller coverage. But I have never tried the Mac radiant foundation!

I use the moisturizer as my primer. I rarely use a dedicated primer, though I have a few!

I don’t have very many tinted moisturizers or serums because they don’t cover my hyper pigmentation, but I will see if I can find the holy grail tint that covers but still lets you skin show through!!

I touch up with pressed, my 2 favs are Mac Blot Powder if my nose is looking shiny and it was CharlotteTilburys Airbrush Powder until recently- I think the Flower Beauty Light Illuminating Powder might be a dupe! I’ve been using a lot lately

There are 2 things I’d do, if you like the double wear, then just make sure you moisturize your skin really well about five minutes before you apply, and then put a drop of your serum in it and see if that helps it go on lighter. Do you need a full coverage foundation? The Lancôme Teint Idol is a lighter coverage that might work for you. But I’d really make sure your skin is moisturized. Make up artists put their moisturizer on right before they start the make up, giving it time to absorb in skin but still be nice and dewy. That keeps the foundation from settling. I like ByTerry’s Hyaluronic Serum foundation, But sometimes it’s hard to find in the stores to get best color, I also love L’Oreal True match foundation, and they just came out with a new version I want to try.

Some definite things that have helped me could help: 1) Make sure you are not only moisturizing but every week or 2 shave your face. Remove all peach fuzz. Or dermaplane which removes the hair & also exfoliates. 2) primer to help smooth any problem areas. (Tarte or elf putty primer). 3) Less is more. At our age full coverage is not our friend. I would use something sheer to medium. My fave combo is loreal infallible 24 hour & colourpop pretty fresh tinted moisturizer. I will take half pump of the tinted moisturizer and half pump of the loreal mix and apply with a brush then after go over with a sponge just to really gently press in. Looks so so nice! 4) A finishing powder to lightly set. Not anything heavy. (Hourglass or the No7 lift & luminate pressed powder is my fav because I like talc free I think it looks better). 5) Last but not least....give your hubby a swift kick in the behind. Lol!

There is a lot of misinformation about alcohol in makeup, especially due to old formulations, but it is true it is shunned by some. For others, like me, it does not dry out my skin and is not an ingredient I try to avoid. If it does irritate or affect your skin, I definitely would avoid it. Thanks for sharing!!

@@LisaMonique Since posting about this months ago, someone told me that not all of the shades of this foundation contain denatured alcohol. Have you heard anything about that? Also I do not think that the amount of alcohol in these foundations is as destructive to my skin as the fact that it just plain looks bad and looks dry on me, right after application. I do use skincare on my face that might protect it from the alcohol, but most foundations containing denat. alcohol just have a pulled, dry appearance after application, I'm sad to say, since there are some I would really like to try.

I returned here to your review because there were SO many helpful tips by you and your subscribers, here in comments, and so wanted to read again all of the petsonal experiences of those who use ELDW, since I'm now using it, on its own & mixing it with other things. Think I like it best as a mixer bc it gives other formulas so much stability and they, in turn, give the DW a slightly more satin, slightly less matte look (not to say I don't like matte a lot) Thank for this great forum!!🤗

I think it depends on the time of year, I get pinker in the winter, which is 3n2. My Lisa Eldridge is neutral with red undertones, my LYS foundation is TP3, which is neutral with pink but In with summer, I’m very neutral warm or even just warm…

@@LisaMonique oh ok, I understand now. I think that the studio light makes your skin tone look a bit different then. I am a light medium but I use 2n2 and my warmest in summer would be a 3w1 Tawny. My skin tone leans more yellow/ golden than rosy. Matching foundations to KZfaqrs it is so hard lol.....love all your videos btw❤️❤️❤️❤️ I watch a couple last night and I also subscribed ❤️.
