The tags suggestions were always far away from describing my product, so I would NOT trust Etsy tweaking my listing! glad I wasn't invited haha, you guys are great! BTW - The "gift for her" tag has like 5M listings competing on that according to Erank, so I don't know if it's a good example that Etsy decided to present us with...

I’ve been invited to this but too nervous to try it. You can’t choose which products they tweak.

I did it, and they mentioned that after awhile I could opt out at anytime. But I have no idea now how to do that? There is nowhere on my dashboard that lets me opt out of this now.

It popped up in my Etsy shop, so I signed up since my shop is only 3 months old and I only have 13 sales so I figured it can’t hurt it anymore. Let’s see 🤞🏼it does say you can opt out at anytime also.

I was invited in my dashboard I did say yes just out of curiosity I have a lot of repeat customers and to me, this is my slow season. Why would they not let us know especially if it works we will see where it goes, you are not guaranteed to be selected? Etsy is forever changing it can be exhausting but welcome to e-commerce right.

I was invited last week and signed up. It was on my seller app on the home page at the bottom. I'm home decor, and this is my slow period (April-July), so I figured "why not"? I'm at almost 7,000 sales, and my thought was that they targeted shops that were doing okay already, had to be opted into offsite ads and possibly even running Etsy ads already. Kinda the only way they could test everything.

My shop got this invite, shows up as a banner on the home page. I accepted it because I'm new and not getting many sales yet. It tells you that you can't pick and choose which listings are included.

If they give me the option to change it then see if i liked it then yes but an opt out should be there. Or give us the opportunity to use it or not then yes i would use it. if they just change it then no.

The offer appeared on my dashboard. You can’t select which items to test - they do. For that reason I declined.

For this, invite came through dashboard. Next invite was for the interview and that was through messages.

I was invited via the homepage on the dashboard. I did not accept but now the option is not there to opt in.

So if this thing is a complete disaster, are we sellers on the hook to go back and change all the listings that Robot Etsy has decided to tweak and do we get a breakdown of all the product listings it changed? Why not just give us an Auto function as you recommended. I do NOT want Robot Etsy to modify my listings. End of. This is frankly the stupidest idea ever.

No. They aren’t permanently changing anything, and it doesn’t look like it’s even changing on my main dashboard. And I can change my mind anytime and tell them to take me out.

I was invited and declined. I would prefer they make suggestions. I've watched a lot of videos about SEO and have over 8,000 sales so I feel like I'm doing something right.

@@armelburgess8651 Since I've sold over 10k, I'm automatically in Etsy ads but I never used it. I have an email list and instagram. People make SEO more complicated. Just say what it is, what its made of, if it has color, size, and what its for. I'm always working on my shop everyday; fixing photos, description, tags, etc. (I don't touch titles unless items haven't sold for over 30 days). If you have an Etsy shop, make sure all the sections are filled out. Etsy ranks shops that have filled out all the sections. Also, customers will see you as a professional shop. I also reply to all the reviews to thank them for taking the time to do a review. I give 10% off to return buyers and always include freebies that coordinate with the items they bought (marketing). I also include a thank you note and mention to sign up for my VIP list. I have a QR code on the back of the notecard. I have many returning customers so that is how I have grown my business and they tell their friends and family. Hope that helps!

Same. I came back here to see if those that said “yes” have received any notifications from Etsy that they’re actually part of the experiment. I have increased every month, but 3 days after agreeing to do it (April 15), orders have decreased quite a bit. Not really fussing because I welcome the lull, but would like to know if it’s just coincidence or if Etsy is actually causing it. Would make me happier if it’s due to being part of the experiment.
