I'm just saying there are more reasons to the inconsistent results and bad performances than just who the manager has been. A majority of Leipzig's problem have been caused by the fact that they lacked a sporting director for more than a year. It lead not only to the bad managerial picks you mentioned but also a lack of a coherent strategy in the transfer window. If you look at this year's summer window, you can see how directionless the club currently is. Raum was signed for a club record breaking fee of €26 mil, it was an unnecessary yet risky transfer as Angelino had already been consistently performing well. Then there was the signing of Werner for €20 - 30 mil, purely a statement signing with no real plan for how he would work with the team. The signing of Schlager (€12 mil) was however a very sensible signing overall. Still, we saw Tedesco be very hesitant in using Schlager indicating that Tedesco didn't have any real influence on who the club recruited. Lastly there was the lack of a new right back signing. With Mukiele leaving during the summer and Henrichs being generally very mediocre, there was a hole that needed to be filled but the management failed to respond.

I’ll give you that Raum was an odd transfer and risk with little reward, but the front office had already been weary of tedesco at the start of the summer. He wouldn’t sign a contract extension and only has a year left so there was no reason to plan around him. Schlager was a good deal, I would even say Werner was a good deal, certainly from a marketing perspective, but very few teams will turn down the opportunity to get their record goal scorer back for cheaper than they lost him, and deals liken Maarten Van Der Voort, and Sesko at least to me show a coherent long term plan. And while we didn’t replace Mukiele, Hendrichs and Klostermann are both right backs by trade. Leipzig haven’t had the greatest window of all time, but as a fan of the club my concerns have been much more aimed at what has felt like unsure management, rather than anything else.

@@powerouletdino9405 Yeah I'm probably being a bit overdramatic. Like you brought up, Vandervoort and Šeško are both good signings for the future. We also did well in keeping hold of Nkunku and Gvardiol. So yeah the club remains relatively well run. I still think that the current management doesn't really understand what additions to the squad are needed/uneeded though. The rightback issue I brought up isn't as big of a deal now as when we're using wingbacks under Tedesco, Henrichs and Klostermann we're both pretty unfit for that role. Hopefully Klostermann can perform well in his original position as a rightback when he's back from injury. While you're very right in that Werner is a great signing marketing wise, footballing wise it wasn't really thougt through. The main issue is that Werner doesn't have his own clear position in the team. Werner is best as a left second-striker, the same position Nkunku, our best player plays in. This gives you two choices: you either rotate them or play one of them out of position. Rotating them isn't that bad of an idea but it's not great to bench your star player or your statement signing. What has usually happened this season is that Nkunku and Werner have been played together as a strike partnership which hasn't really worked as they don't complement each other. You're also then completely leaving out Silva from the strating 11. Not only does Silva complement Nkunku well but also adds some much-needed aerial threat to get something out of Raum's crossing. I think the managerial issue is largely down to the management's uncertainty about what playstyle they want to institute. When Nagelsmann who favored possession based football left, the management tried to return to the typical Redbull playing style through the appoitment of Jesse Marsch which ended terribly. We then returned to possession based football with Domenico Tedesco. Eventually Tedesco's results fizzled out and we're now back with Redbull football under Marco Rose. There really doesn't seem to be a clear plan for what the long-term playstyle will be, which obviously complicate any future recruitment. Sorry I write so much but it's quite fun to hear other perspective from fellow Leipzig fans.

I dnt think his tactics would've gotten us much success if it was actually implemented, but i definitely think he could've done better after Ole's web of lies, broken promises n failures hadn't all errupted. Had we kept him to do the job he actually came to do i think we'd have had a better window. But maybe his picks might've been too orientated towards his counter attacking, high press style

I think the bigger issue is them selling players way under market value - they dont get enough money to replace them adequately

@@MobEra89 This really isn't as big of an issue as you make it out to be. RB are usually quite good sellers which can be seen in this year's summer window. RB collected around €80 mil trough the selling of part time players (Mukiele and Adams) or players who were loaned out the previous season (Lookman and Brobbey). Further on, we also saw RB spending a lot of money this summer, breaking the club record fee with the signing of Raum (€26 mil) as well as signing Werner for €20 mil. Another thing is that Leipzig can often buy Salzburg players under market value to replace any outgoings. There are a lot of reasons why Leipzig are in the situation they're in right now but I wouldn't say them being bad sellers is a big one.

Leipzig's sporting director was appointed hardly 2 days ago; they have been without one for a year now; I was speaking of Leipzig only; it's very unlike a Red Bull team to be without a sporting director and have 3 managerial changes in such a short amount of time.

Why hold onto star players if you keep producing new ones? Sure, especially in a system like this structure is very important, but that structure seems to be there. From what I've seen, seasoned players (think Ulmer or Walke) are holding the club together. And looking at results they're doing pretty damn well.

@@antheiheiant That's what I'm saying! They've been successful with this model, why change it because of 1 blip season caveated by the fact their best players left! Theres a clear pathway to the RB 1st team for youth players and I'm sure they'll be up there again. Its just a transitional period.
