In this brutally honest review I compare the Cherlam rechargeable air pump to Hygger's rechargeable air pump. It was a fare test.. who came out on top.

Really great comparison and review, Chris! The adjustable power not working and it being weaker on one side seem like quality control issues. Unfortunately I feel like that's not uncommon with some hygger products despite their higher prices. Will be interesting to see if they send you a replacement if that one works better. Haven't heard of cherlam before, but that one is clearly the winner. Great job demonstrating the pumps! 🙂👍

They have not reached out even though they saw the video a week before it was released. I don't really trust their pumps. They should stick to the lights

I really like the intermittent operation saves on battery and keep the fish alive longer. It would be good for hygger to make good with this problem pump. These battery operated pumps would be fantastic for auction or fish swap events😊 great comparison chris!🙂👍🏻

great review Chris........we are pretty lucky round these parts with power outages and have some old school ones that run on batteries, but something like these would be better. good luck with the hygger one! We like their lights a lot but not much else from them....hopefully they continue to make improvements in their pumps!

We get a lot of winter storms, ice and storm damage that we lose power a few times a year. Just feel more comfortable having them plus when I transport a lot of fish it's a must to have them. I agree about Hygger pumps. That's why I mentioned about the issues. Btw they did not reach out about replacing

Hi Chris! I find these rechargeable aerators very useful in the event of a power outage. They are certainly reliable but I prefer the mains ones for the tubs. Great review and presentation.

Looks like a decent little pump and could be handy if transporting fish over a long distance without access to oxygen. In a fish room set up like yours you would need multiple pumps to accommodate all of your tanks. Too bad the +/- button didn't seem to work, at least that's how it appeared to me as the 4 blue lights didn't change when you pressed the button. The intermittent mode is a nice feature to save battery power though.

I didn't know they made chargeable air pumps. I've got about 10 that run on "D" batteries. Believe me, that can get expensive on a power outage. As other comments have said, this would be great transporting fish. Great video. Thanks ❤

I wonder if the check valve actually made it flow more air somehow, maybe it keeps the air pressure more consistent? I use one of those batter air pumps when I go fishing or when I'm transporting fish to my LFS, awesome review Chris, Hopefully you can figure out why the one side of the pump flows less air or maybe Hygger will give you another one to try, it could've just been a defective pump.

@@stubbsaquatics6080 why I tend to stay away from hygger stuff as in essence great price tag but I've found some of their products hit and miss particularly their heaters.
