The routines for DCC are tough in sneakers. When the iconic white boots are introduced, though? Things are taken to the next level. Here’s a look back at every time the training camp candidates put on the boots for the first time.

Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

The sad reality is that if they got rid of the DCC, the Cowboys would still sell out each game. Most fans pay to watch football at the games. The players are the cash cows which is why they're paid accordingly. Seven NFL teams don't have cheerleaders and they still sell out their games. Notwithstanding that, I do feel the DCC should be paid more than what they currently make.

Ok Judy, the first reaction to someone getting injured is to be helpful and assist in rendering assistance, not being critical as per usual. Judy was so wrong when that candidate hurt HER BACK. They know it's hard. They're the ones doing it. The reality of what She's saying is that if they can't then someone else can. They do allow some room for error but they don't tell the girls that because no one will fight harder for you than you.

@@TamiresCaron as a dancer, these aren’t like usual cowboy boots. These are custom made for dance and performance unlike other boots, so it’s difficult to just buy any off the internet and try to practice. Going from any practice shoe to a performance-stage shoe always has a learning curve. Ballerinas don’t go from flat slippers to pointe shoes immediately, it’s the same with these girls.

I clicked on this not knowing what it was about. I am a bit surprised that they want them to perform like the Rockettes but don't pay them in these training camps and then only pay them 150.00 a week. I did the math and for the season thats 2,550.00. Gameday is probably a 5 hour day and I'm sure they have practice 1 or 2 times week. Why do they do this for the peanuts they pay them. My brother is good friends with the Jaguars mascot, when he started 20 years ago he was working his full time job while doing this on Sunday a couple years later he made the mascot his only job. He makes over 100,000 a year and it changes yearly usually depending how the team is doing and what tricks he does. For example he has a zip line entrance from the top of the lights to the field for that trick he gets paid 10,000 the stadium has to be at a certain occupancy to do that trick. He had the mascot's website and 5 years ago he retired and probably won't have to work for the rest of his life. If that seems crazy so do I. NFL cheerleaders need to get paid more if they want this kind of performance the Rockettes make 1500.00 a week and only work 24 weeks a year plus they get year round health insurance. If radio city can pay that much the NFL surely can.

It makes no sense to me to have a completely custom made boot and then not get to keep them. They have to hand them back in to be (training boots). They are recycled for next season. So this means the custom made boots they perform on the field are custom made,...but yet they don't get to keep them? what sense does that make? A custom boot may not fit anyone. Just like every body is different,..every foot is different. Wonder how many boots are thrown away instead of letting the team keep their boots. Can somebody make sense of this??

Plus, these girls should've watched this series when wanting to learn the intro on the field. They have access to the internet

I’m sure the DCC boots are different but when I was in drill team in hs, we didn’t practice in our boots. Our boots had no traction on the soles so you can hit those turns precisely. We practiced in our cheer shoes to really make sure he had the choreography down and prevent some injury since our cheer shoes had a bit more traction (not a lot but more than the boot) Again I’ve never worn a DCC boot. It may be a little different.

I feel like you have to have been in certain types of training to understand this method of teaching. It’s absolutely brutal. A lot of people don’t make it. I was one of them. However I can still see how it can be valuable when what you do is so military precise. I think it also depends on how many people you’re teaching at once, after a while a lot of teachers disconnect from that personal bond with their dancers.

I’ve never cheered before but I can see some obvious things here: 1) All these candidates know what’s involved in training. They’ve all studied it and it’s supposedly very important to them so.. 2) They know they’ll be kicking in boots so why not practice in boots at home before training even starts. 3) They know how tough the instructors are and how hard it is so the “toughness” of the teachers and the training shouldn’t be a surprise.

typically the dance boots dcc uses and dance teams in general, are a lot different from real cowboy boots. if you want to order dance boots you have to go to a specialty store and are very expensive if ur only ordering one pair. also a lot of them probably assume it just feels like a tennis shoe or something but they do have a quite a bit of weight to them

She has overall skin tone, athletic health, fantastic hair, sculpted Greek Goddess face, strong legs and hip union which will fill the shorts amazingly gorgeous and she's tall, which is good when you represent a state team of long, tall Texas cowboys. I mean, if Rachael W couldn't dance one step, she could still do promotion gathers and let people take pictures, because she's that Miss Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader !
