Likely it’d be the authoritarian ones, way more complicated to keep a libertarian (both left and right) and especially an anarchist society together.

Probably anything really high in government power and control without someone in position of power not being qualified (monarchies are out, for example). While people will be less happy, giving them less freedom or voice will allow the government to get things done even if it's done in a way that's not the people's best interests. I'm not gonna ask for an authoritarian leader anytime soon though.

I've come to the conclusion that the only rational choice for me is to eschew politics entirely. Even if everyone could agree on matters of objective fact, there would still be too many subjective value judgements involved for any kind of peaceful consensus to ever arise. Human moral instincts evolved in environments which bear little to no resemblance to technological societies. We don't have the neurological hardware for modern life. I try to focus on my own actions in my own little part of the world. My moral philosophy only binds me. I can't change other people or make them see things my way. I _can_ find some peace in the knowledge that I followed my conscience and reason as far as they would take me.

Unfortunate, but I went to a public school and even in government class we didn’t learn about politics hardly at all. It wasn’t really driven home why FDR got elected to 4 terms. I thought Nixon was hated only for being a crook, never learned anything about the southern strategy or the war on drugs. Never learned about neoliberalism. The fact that I knew Taft got stuck in a bathtub my whole life but didn’t learn he was a Supreme Court justice till I was 26 is crazy. I remember my psychology teacher (who taught US & World history) had a poster of Marx and Freud in his classroom I don’t at all remember learning about Marx.

Most people on there aren’t actually fascists or Nazis and are just joking, with a lot of the memes actually mocking fascism. Compared to the rest of Reddit which is basically a “left-wing” echo chamber, the sub is actually pretty centrist. It actually caused me to become less authoritarian and be more of a centrist. I’m talking from bias but overall it isn’t that terrible in comparison to other political subreddits (ESPECIALLY r/politics, THAT SUB IS A CESSPOOL)

As long as the subreddit doesn’t devolve into something like r/conservative, it’s nice and chill (and the fact that we can unite over genociding pedophiles and being doomers is also nice)

@@ballisticm0use72 its about means of production socialism is a sliding scale of various amounts of state intervention in the economy Monarchy, Feudalism, Theocracy, or corpocracy are the upper right of the compass this is essentially the private control of the state oftentimes with the government being a literal enterprise either originally a landlord or merchant that just got really strong, business owners in such societies literally own the government fascism is actually a rejection of that, while authcap as described above is the private sector owning the government , fascism is essentially the government controlling the private sector and controlling it rather than directly seizing it like in communism, its the enslavement of the private sector rather than its abolition. Its socialism in practice but not on paper, its essentially total government control of the private means of production rather than the total private control of the government as seen in the monarchies of old. Fascists on average had near half or more tax rates, the vast majority of people's earnings whether through wages or through profits went to the government in nazi germany, fascist italy, peronist argentina and a few others that fit this distinction. Funnily enough the total government control of the entire world economy that has been the reaction to covid is a fascist project, it wasnt the nationalization of enterprise but it was the state control of enterprise, funnily enough most of europe where restrictions in many areas are still extreme does have near half taxation. the Feudal lords and their merchant allies that are often branded as tyrants had tax rates averaging around 10-15% with 20% being the highest at least in the "Greater West" (areas with governments that followed an Abrahamic religion), to this day some of the lowest tax rates in the world are in the arab gulf states. another aspect that really is distinct is that tradtional monarchs were slaves to tradition. what that means is that any laws that were too distinct from tradition was seen as an attack against the religion of the nation fascists while they often initially co opts religion at least until they have enough power in a society seek to wipe away traditional religion in exchange for treating the state as a God. Its the rejection of the crown, of property rights, of the respect of the property rights especially of religious and minority groups (i am aware of how nations kicked out the jews but to be fair im moreso talking about theory rather than how it was implemented. Heck in the Eastern Roman Empire there were communities of Arab Muslim merchants and the government generally respected their property rights but to be fair china is in theory communist but more fascist than anything else anyways) the point is that fascism rejects the idea of God given property rights which is often found both on the monarchist and classical liberal blocs of the right. The core of the fascist ideal is the nation, the core of the monarchist ideal is the profit of the nobles, merchants, the nation is a literal investment so the nobility do better if the economy is expanding and the more minds that are working towards success the better off they are, map painting is something every ideology does though ill give you that. Fascism often rejects trade, it seeks to invade a country and seize the assets of other countries rather than trade with them where monarchy generally just picks whatever option is cheaper. Traditional societies' put either religion or property rights first, fascists put race first the fascists' seeks to return to the Egyptian or Bronze age where the government was worshipped and all enterprise was to the desires of the state, the medieval kings generally accepted that economics were a thing and didnt spend all the public money giving free stuff to people with the same skin color as them (the nazis had a huge welfare state), honestly traditional monarchies are generally comically frugal or at least are using non tax money from their other ventures (saudi oil money)
