Fun fact, the "press Y to instantly use a cipher" is bound to the physical location of the Y key on a Qwerty keyboard rather than the input of the letter. So if you live, for example, in Germany, where the Qwertz layout is standard, you will have to press Z as the Z is in the position in which Qwerty keyboards have the Y.

The inline messages are useful when you cant see that a new tab got opened outside your chats cutoff. The HUGE problem is they are the same color when they slide into someone else's DM tab.

"Context action includes reload" is mainly for console/controller players. As there are limited buttons.. a lot of games will combine interact and reload.

also quick tip: If you have some spare argon crystals and don't know what to use them on before they decay, you can type argon in the foundry search bar and it will list all the items that have them in their recipe

5:50 a lot of the search bars are "smart" in this way. If you're looking for a weapon, say melee if you type in "scythe" it'll bring up the reaper, hate, caustacyst etc, type in "magnetic" it'll bring up all weapons with innate magnetic damage (doesn't find modded elementals only base stats), besides this, you can find items/mods/frames based on any keyword that appears anywhere in their description, such as you can type in "cyst" to find Strain mods, type in "orokin" to find orokin based weapons, type in "cyath" it'll find all cyath based zaws regardless of names etc...

OH MY GOD, the invert abilities at 6:47 is a game changer. I've always complained about how wisp has to hold down 1 for motes when holding down should be to switch them. Other frames like khora can be vice versa so now i can have it exactly how i want. I had no idea in 4 years of playing.

For the profit taker dialogue skip, I've found that left click works just like hitting enter

Never in my life I'm turning Ordis off. Yeah, I wish he had more lines of dialogue/monologue. But he's basically the closest thing we have to a friend/family at this point. Not counting (spoilers) on Deimos.

A tip that a lot of new players may not know is when playing solo, at the end of a level during the extraction when the animation of boarding the ship plays you can skip the 10s timer by pressing space skipping the timer. Very helpful for running capture missions

MR 28 - Only one I wasn't aware of was the Deimos skip using NW. So glad you shared that one, it'llhelp me save sooo much time. I also changed my crit colors too, regular crits are red, orange crits are dark red and red crits are black, It looks really nice.

Context action reload is probably due to some weird stuff DE did with controller inputs. Same reason the cipher key Y cannot be rebound. Its hard mapped to triangle/ Y on a controller. You can use it to quick cancel missions too if you accidentally click on one. You use triangle/Y on controllers to do that so Y works there too. Probably also why Y works for the ayatan filling. Same with M and N for some reason being bound to the bumpers. You can use those to quick switch tabs in the foundry or navigate the mission stuff on the top right of the starchart screen. I used to use it to switch between the tabs on the old rewards screens, think it even worked while loading back to the orbiter. You might even be able to use those to rotate the corpus hacking things, but I haven't checked.

I always like to leave five copies over per mod when clearing dupes. Considering it’s pretty often that I need an unmaxed mod, the spares are decently useful. Since I only clear mods once a year at the most it isn’t a problem to do it manually.

No more being held hostage in open world games. I had no idea you could leave and not loose your loots. I was so afraid of loosing my treasures, I would end up doing more missions even though I was maxed on rep and wasting my time. Love these kind of QoL videos, a part 2 would be great if you haven't done so yet.

It was so nice when they added the "invert tap/hold" abilities option to be per-frame settings instead of just 1 universal setting for all :) A small trick i liked to use with the customize UI colors is to change the Downed Ally icons color, because when the icons bugs out and gets stuck on the screen they're usually red and/or yellow and it's a bit hard to spot a dying pet or rescue target with several other red icons moving around too. So i changed that to purple or something. Same thing for the mercy-kill threshold, it's default color is very hard to see against many healthbars so setting it to a clashing color makes it much easier to see, mostly just useful if one wants to trigger the on-mercy-kill mods or if the enemies levels are getting very high.

Great to see a guide on some of these, I've always found it kinda weird how hidden a lot of QoL features are. I wanted to add a couple of things though. For the profit taker dialogue I always use left click to skip, I didn't know enter also works but left click is a bit quicker for me anyway. I keep seeing people say you can have 9 gear hotkeys and I'm not sure why, I have 12 hotkeys on my function keys, they're grouped into 3 groups of 4 on my keyboard so I have them set up as F1-F4 for vehicle and archgun launchers, F5-F8 for fishing spears, mining, and tranq rifle, and F9-F12 for scanner, specters, and on call crew.

I love Ordis! Out in space, he 'genuinely' cares about the Tenno. It feels like he's an actual 'friend'. How excited he was in fighting 'with me' during the Suda quest... Yeah, he can be redundant, but it's immersive, brilliant storytelling.

I'm so glad they did the ability toggles in a frame by frame basis, it's always such a nice surprise when you actually get something you've been suggesting. It is a shame I still sometimes mess up and accidentally hold my Mag 2 etc. spamming it as I try to ensure I hover over an enemy and press it at the same time, it'd actually be kinda nice to just disable it altogether too. I wonder if that's just me, it also sometimes happens in other games, it seems especially when my framerates dip and one of my spam clicks is ever so slightly slow on the release. (Come to think of it, might even be my Corsair Scimitar Pro buttons) On top of that I'm just not the best with combos involving holds, you know that feeling when you start holding too early and the action doesn't even come out, then it takes a sec for you to register that you're just standing there? It's pretty awkward. My biggest enemy is double-tap direction to dash, though, I think games having that as the only option should actually just be illegal. Also, if I'm ever at a friend and they leave their WF account unattended, I am most definitely changing their crit colors to confuse them. I wonder how a new player would respond to red colored allies? Ohh, come to think of it, this was another feature I suggested to Pablo! Love that it's not just cool, but also helps some people with visibility, more than just standard color blind filters can do on their own. There's yet again further improvements I'd make, especially in Railjack, like an optional outline around the crosshair that dynamically contrasts with the background, as well as a line extending from the center of the screen to it so it's always very evident where you're aiming.

"Leave Squad" should be part of the Beginners tutorials. So many times your hunting/mining in open worlds and someone joins then tries to leave. Leave Squad has started many a rage moments for some...

Another trick with gear key bind: bind synthesis scanner to a convenient button (for me it's middle mouse button), and when you have another gear equipped (mining laser, fishing spear, conservation gun) but you need to return to combat to clear some enemies, just double press the synthesis scanner key. It will switch to equip synthesis scanner and then un-equip it, switching you back to whatever weapon you were using before and ready you for combat. Alternatives to this include pressing the same gear button again or pressing melee, but I find double tapping synthesis scanner button a much faster universal simple to remember way to switch back to your weapon. Plus binding synthesis scanner to a convenient button is useful on its own. It allows you to quickly switch on and off synthesis scanner on simaris hunts.

goodness, this helpped a lot, the setting to switch the abilities from hold to tap and vice versa helped so much, I'm a vauban main and since the rework, vortex has been a pain to place, I just wish we could have the option to have bastille and vortex as their own abilities again.

Info for the "invert Tab/Hold Abilities": If you invert a Warframe's Abilities, they are also inverted on ANY Warframe that have Subsumed the Ability of this Warframe by the Helminth System! Info for the "Cancel Transmission with Nightwave Screen": The Host (but ONLY the Host) can this so also in Public or Multiplayer Games. and, just "lol" for the "Permanent Red Crits" :P

8:55 You should've mentioned that this is 'shunned upon' if all players are already going for extraction AND you are the host of the squad. Many incidents happen where the host doesn't wait for his entire squad (who are on their way to extraction) and leave the squad, putting EVERYONE into host migration and slowing them down. Or worse, having failed migration process because DE is so good in fixing their game. All this because some 'kid' watched a video about it and does it regardless of being host or not. 9:40 I believe 'left click' skips this dialogue too, if I'm mistaken.

So I may be wrong here, but I think the reason that context/releas share an optional button is due to consoles having such a finite number of key binding options. So since they *have* to share some binding options, it was probably just easier on DE to code every platform to do the same thing and give you the option to change it- although it would be amazing if they'd have a quality of life tutorial for new players in the early part of the game for this stuff.

Another note on skipping dialogue, you should be able to press Escape to completely skip all the dialogue after starting a Profit Taker mission

It still amazes me how I can learn things I didn't know, despite playing this game for like 7 years or so... Most of these I already knew, but the "Y to Auto Install Ayatans" (I knew about the Cipher Y one), and the Customise colours things were totally new to me. It also now makes me doubt all of those KZfaqrs that show "red crit builds" when you could just swap the colours and pretend it's constantly red critting with only occasional yellows instead of vice versa.

I can't believe I never learned about selecting stacks with alt-fire. I felt like it was too cumbersome, yet I never considered it wasn't the way to begin with.

Thanks for that quick hack tip, that was driving me crazy.

In-line chat is fairly useful

Idk if this counts but as someone who played a ton of other hack-n-slash shooters this helped me alot when I've only just started. bind your switch weapon somewhere and enable melee with mouse option. Imitating melee controls from other games.
