But when she announces at the end "I Am Darth Zannah!" To Darth Cognis I thought that would've made things clear for those people lmao.

And Zannah was her real name, Her cousin went by Tomcat as a kid but went by Darovit after she blew off his hand in the caves and he became the Healing Hermit of Ruusan. But she's just that BA that she announces herself while hiding with her real name lol.

Their final duel on Ambria was my favorite in the Darth Bane trilogy. The fight truly pushed both to the limits of their abilities and proved that they were equals (albeit through different ways)

I wonder about that, actually. Ultimately, the shift to subterfuge and guile is what destroyed the Jedi Order, not the pursuit of singular strength or mastery of the dark side. Yes, it was a large part of it, but the actions taken to destroy the Jedi during the clone wars could've been mostly done by anyone, not necessarily a Sith.

By the time of Tenebrous and Plagueis, both are described as lightsaber sparring masters, eclipsing any Jedi of their time. Sidious and Tyranus too are some of if not the best duelists of their era. I think the implication is there that they'd grown so powerful by that point in the combative aspects of the Dark Side that they _had_ to resort to subterfuge, and also kept falsely believing themselves to be the Ro2's end goal due to their own power. The paradox of the Sith eventually becoming something Darth Bane might not approve of as a consequence of his own philosophy is, well...ironic, no?

That there's side effects of having shared his mind in her body even just temporarily is at a minimum a given. @@trence5 I'm not sure I would even consider Plagueis to be evil, at least not Sidious's brand of evil. I always liked how he leaned away from cruelty unless he deemed it absolutely necessary, and how subtle he could be when accomplishing his goals. I think the empire wouldn't have been toppled so easily under his rule, and who knows what he could've accomplished with Anakin

As much as I loved the Bane Trilogy, I know Disney would screw it up royally! It's better left in the books.

A TV show would be best, but make the episodes an hour and a half long and follow the books to a T. I guarantee this would save the franchise.

I think they'll still just do a poor job of it, would rather they not bother. Eventually, they are going to have to go back and reboot what they did if they want to keep this franchise for more than a decade, and if that's too much trouble they're going to end up needing to sell it off, they're barely making money. Hell, Solo lost money. And when you do the math on how much they're making, don't forget to account for the hundreds of millions per movie in marketing. Most people leave that out and assume they're making bigger profits than they are. They're not making shit right now imo.

All she could do was twirl her Saber essentially making a shield. Just watch Donatello from TMNT twirl his staff around and you'll have a clear demonstration lmao. She couldn't compete with Bane physically so Bane taught her to redirect blows and wear opponents down to counter when they tired and made a mistake since she wouldn't be able to compete otherwise.

Surely he could have survived for 1000 years, but only if ALL his apprentices had a weak will, which is not so realistic. If i remember hearing correctly, the reason Maul was not considered a Sith Lord was because Sidious found him far too impulsive to carry on the plan he had for the galaxy. Also, (again if remembered correctly) Sidious never taught Maul the actual ways and teachings of the Sith Lords, instead focusing on making him into a fighting machine as a way to get use out of his impulsiveness (not so different than Tyrannus and Ventress).

@@joshuasands9440 you are ignoring Darth Maul from animations, in clone wars he is the leader of the largest criminal organization in the galaxy, king of mandalore and becomes a threat to both the separatists and the republic, Sidious and Tyranus sent Grevious to kill him. and what do you mean Tyranus is just a fighting machine? Sidious gives him the role of main separatist leader, Tyranus and Maul were full siths and clone wars shows that. as for Ventress I agree in parts, she was in fact more focused on fighting the Jedi (remembering that she clashed with Obi-Wan and Anakin often, as well as other Jedi Knights) than leading and etc, but at the same time she was very skilled, Tyranus's main apprentice and would have completed acolyte training if Sidious hadn't had her killed too.

When i was refering to Tyrannus and Ventress it was in the sense that she was trained to be his assasin just as maul was trained by sidious to be an assassin. And yes I remember Mauls achievements as a galactic threat, but that role could be played by anybody, not just a sith lord, so that alone does not necessarily qualify him as a sith. For a darkside user to become a sith lord they had to be trained in the sith arts such as Tyrannus was. Maul never got that kind of training from Sidious because all Sidious saw in Maul was a pawn to be the face of the war to come and nothing else.

I do not think sidious ever intended for him to become the next lord of the sith, but given maul knew the greater plot and purpose of the clone wars/ order 66 to some level it does bring up the question why an assassin would need to know this. I personally think there's a good chance sidious led him to believe he would be the next sith lord so that he would not become annoying.

Yes, and it was heavily implied Sidious actually CARED about Maul because in the Phantom Menace book he is described as having a hole in him after he killed his master whose death coincided with Mauls "death" across the galaxy, Sidious felt "alone" according to him.

I agree with you guys. If you read the maul books like lockdown and shadow Hunter it explains as well that plagueis thought of him as just a tool/assassin but sideous didn't feel the same. He's more of a secret/failed apprentice. If you won't count maul then you can't count dooku either in my opinion.

@@hewhofalls777 the thing with Dooku is that even though he may have just been a pawn and place holder for sidious’ ideal apprentice, he was still granted the darth title by a sith master. Maul was only supposed to be an assassin and it was Sidious who granted him the title while being an apprentice himself to plagueis. That goes against the rule of two. By every technicality, maul shouldn’t be considered a Sith Lord. However, some may argue that he held that title for a few moments since it’s believed that when he was supposedly “killed” on Naboo, Sidious felt his death through the force mistaking it as plagueis reaching out to him from death just moments after he had killed him.

I will tell you why betrayal, betrayal betrayal is why the Sith ultimately. I can respect their devotion to power but their lack of discipline and restraint is what ultimately ends them. The Dark Side is used as a shortcut at times and can be used as a crutch at worst. Wanting everything rather than having a defined goal and limit is what brings them to ruin.

@@Kilimanjaro1533 think about it like this, yes the pre-rule of two sith did have a lot of power, but they always ended up losing to the jedi. Meanwhile with the rule of two they got the most powerful sith to ever live, and ended up successfully taking over the galaxy

Lumiya was a sith by default. which is fine since she was still trained by a sith, and she carried on their legacy.

I think it had to do with the fact that each sith got stronger and more capable each time they replaced their master as they learned everything from their master before they replace them, and continue to learn until teaching their apprentice and ultimately being replaced, feeding the cycle. And Sidious and Plagueis had figured out immortality meaning that he'd be able to rule forever as one of the most powerful sith possible.

It's also a matter of amassed resources, I think, and enough time passing to lower the galaxy's guard against the sith. Even to the jedi in modern times, the sith were mostly just a legend. Sidious didn't enact the grand plan by being a sith, if you think about it, what enabled it was political manipulation. That manipulation, in turn, had its foundation in the vast resources of Plagueis as an interplanetary banking tycoon. Across most of these sith lords' stories, you find examples of how they used the force subtly to put themselves in positions of power that become greater and greater with each generation of the rule of two. I don't think that each generation of sith were by default more powerful in the force than those who came before them. Especially since most of them in the stories we're shown didn't take on their masters in outright duels, but murdered them through covert means. Plagueis' inner monologue makes it evident that he doubted being able to kill Tenebrous, and he orchestrated a cave-in to make it happen. Tenebrous' inner monologue meanwhile reveals he let himself die, to enable essence transfer, which then failed due to a miscalculation. Though we have to take it at face value that Sidious is the canonically most powerful sith, since that's been stated to death by the lore, he also didn't duel Plagueis. He murdered him in his sleep. This is probably a pattern that carries across many more of the unnamed ones. If anything, most were probably weaker than Bane and Zannah. Instead, they were amassing financial and political power, until the day one powerful enough, such as Sidious, and by then prepared enough could use those resources to truly see the plan through. The sith only showed their hand and moved to remove the jedi from power after Sidious had already been ELECTED to lead by the common people, and thus turned the entire system against the jedi with seeming legitimacy. Powerful as Sidious was, he was never strong enough to just go to war against the jedi outright. He had to set the scene, and generations of sith before him played their part in that.

The early Banite Sith were focused on quietly rebuilding the power of the Sith by searching the Galaxy for Sith Holocrons and dark side writings/techniques. Over time, the Sith grew in the power of the dark side and began working to sow disorder in the Republic from behind the scenes. In time, the Sith had acquired so much power that they were nearly on the verge of overthrowing the Republic. Unfortunately, however, around this time the Sith came under the control of Darth Gravid who believed that the Sith should incorporate light side teachings into their training. His attempts to do so drove him mad and Gravid began destroying nearly every single Holocron and text that the Sith had acquired throughout the centuries. Gravid was quickly killed by his apprentice, Darth Gean, but the damage was already done. The Sith had to restart from the beginning AGAIN under Darth Gean. However, around this time, the Sith ended their isolation from the Galactic community and began to operate out in the open under various aliases in order to increase the power of the Order. Darth Tenebrous was known as Rugess Nome, a famous starship designer. Darth Plagueis was known as Hego Demask, a wealthy investor and political boss. Darth Sidious was obviously known as Palpatine, an aristocratic politician who became chancellor of the Republic.
