It is without saying that he is king of the triple axel.

I never understood the trend of people saying they wanted their favourite celebrity to step on them or kill them instantly etc. but then I saw Yuzu's 3A and thought "I want Yuzuru Hanyuu to execute a counter-entry triple axel and land directly on my head, killing me instantly" so... YUZU'S 3A IT'S POWER

he started from falling too 10 years ago, made me realize he is also human, and he worked so hard for his success

4:55 this one...when he's about to jump you can see he's too close to the wall and he only JUST manages to pull away from the wall after he lands...and then he just kind of jazz hands his way away from the wall with his back to the camera. What an iconic moment.

He is truly the Triple Axel King

Yuzuru has said that he spent the most time perfecting his axel when he was younger, up to 45 minutes in a 60 minute practice at times. It's no wonder the jump is so gorgeous now c:

He could do a triple axel when he was 14?!

In 2008 he rotate but fallen, in 2009 he landed it but not stable, in 2010 he steadily landed it, in 2011 onward he constantly, beautifully and perfectly land it. If this phase applied to his 4A, we have seen him rotate and fall in 2019, maybe in 2020 too because all the set back, then he land it unsteady in 2021, stabilize it in 2022 (Olympics!!) and make it perfect in 2023. I'm waiting for a moment where the commentator would say, "Quad axel out of nowhere!! Yuzuru Hanyu!!"

I cried when I saw his back counter 3A-Eu-3S at Saitama Worlds this year. He is ever evolving.

We all think he is a legend, a miracle, but we also forgot that he is a human just like us at the same time. He is a not a miracle, all his successes are based on the efforts he put in,he deserves every single medal.He is a legend because he works 3 times harder than the others.He is pushing himself to death closer and closer each time he tried. He is not a person that was born for the sport,he has asthma .So it is much more harder for him to skate than us.He deserves way more than this.

You can really see his struggle, the way the moves evolved through years. It's magnificent.

I appreciate how he always hangs his free leg up after landing the jump instead of putting it down immediately to stabilise himself. And his entry to the jumps are also beautiful. His jumps look so effortless and melt into the whole choreography to the point that I completely forgot that he's a human skating on rock cold ice.

the fact that he landed 3A elegantly with a back counter entry. it’s HARD and not commonly does by any other figure skater. us seing him pushing himself to do more. it’s just a breathtaking.

He is getting better over time. He proves that men are in their physical prime in their late 20s - early 30s and not younger. When they are younger they have definitely more flexibility but they don't have the super strong core that supports such kind of jumps.

so much progress over the years, wow!! you can really see the potential for how big his axel can get in 2010 and a kind of lightness with the way he moves in like 2011!! and he just gets so consistent afterwards

You can see his landings are a little off after the olympics bc he changed the way he lands his jumps due to injury. He trained and learned a new technique to prevent injury in such a short time and his jumps already look in great shape this season. The power this boy has is beyond me

He's so right on time with the music time after time.

I was going to watch again and count during how many jumps he fell to see the success rate, but thankfully that job was done for me. He practically never fell in his later years and some of those times he did, I believe he was injured. The way he improved over the years is incredible, that must have taken a ton of work. If here he did 162 jumps I'm sure during practices it was more like 16200

i can't believe how easily he does a triple axel- triple toe combination. it my favorite jump because he always executes them with amazing speed,height, and grace

What's really fascinating is in 2011 his jump technique altered ever so slightly on take off, which suddenly made it not only consistent but a move of elegance and style. What Hanyu has is (as well as loads of talent, of course) is an amazing work ethic.... all through his career he is adding new jumps - the quad loop, quad lutz, as examples. Normally, skaters reach a technical plateau and then work on the artistry - he continues to push himself on both. He really is incredible!!

100% respect for yuzuru who challenges himself to perfect his triple axel jumps. He never gives up....my prayers for him that he will achieve his 4A dream. Just DON'T hurt yourself...my dear yuzuru.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏

That's an amazingly high success rate. Yuzu's 3A are state of the art and always enjoyable to watch.

The ease of his 3A's makes me feel like I could do one easily.

Can we at least be proud that even though he sometimes slip after doing a triple axel, he managed to turn in the air three times which is really hard.

Haha I remember seeing an interview I think? with nanami-sensei saying that Yuzu looks like he was having difficulty with the 3A so maybe he shouldn't try to much and focus on other jumps but being the competetive king that he was, he practiced it until he got it right. Look at him now, king of 3As.

it made me so proud to see him improving his axel and seeing how at first he was struggling to land it, and with hard work and practice he is now the king of 3As 💜

I am convinced that young Yuzu skating to Paganini was foreshadowing to his future success.

What I realize from this video apart from his amazing work over the years is that Yuzuru must really like the color blue since it's the color of most part of his outfits. Now watching The four continent's championship I can only think "Japan, please design a new outfit for him, it's been five years with the same one, it's time to move on 😅"

you know what. this video has empowered me to TAKE RISKS. there are SO MANY PEOPLE who don't try to execute skills in their routine they're not 100% about. yuzu fell MULTIPLE TIMES in a competition and it never bothered him, that's purely inspirational to me.

Yuzu has some of the most gorgeous 3As in the business, but on the other hand he also has some of the most harrowing 3A saves in the business!
